'Gulf War 2 will start on March 13'
March 03 2003 at 12:55PM
London - An American-led war on Iraq could start as early as March 13, just a day after a new resolution on Iraq is put to a vote at the United Nations Security Council, Britain's best-selling Sun newspaper said on Monday.
"The timing is tactical," a "top US intelligence source" told the tabloid - whose owner Rupert Murdoch has personally came out in support of United States President George Bush's Iraq policy.
"The moment we know we have the nine votes needed, we will go for it. The military won't hang around after that," the source said, referring to the number of votes required for a Security Council majority.
The Sun also reported that allied commanders expect a war on Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's regime to be "soon, swift and short," with a "bombing blitz" to be unleashed for the first 10 days.
Keeping up its running anti-French campaign, the paper said French President Jacques Chirac - who wants to avert a war by beefing up UN inspections - would be "one of the first casualties of the conflict, apart from Saddam".
It quoted Bush as having told "the posturing Frenchman" in a telephone call last week: "President Chirac, we will not forgive and we will not forget." - Sapa-AFP

I guess if we don't get the nine votes, we don't go to war?

Yeah, or maybe the cheap tabloid rag just copied GlobalSecurity.org's current prediction date?
To: maquiladora

More speculation ... last week we were being told by so called "reliable sources" that moon phase dictated an attack on Iraq no later than March 3 ... still waiting.

wouldn't want to do anything that Syria or Pakistan or China or France might object to.

Did you ping the Mossad person that usually posts these exact date threads :-)

How long have the newsies been playing this predict-GWII game? 10 months? And yet, somehow, after 18 resolutions, dozens of conferences, and reams of newsprint, we're still "rushing" into war.

Actually, GW I will re-open in the coming days; there is no Gulf War II. I'm betting the night of March 8 the bombing runs will up in earnest ... we're already bombing their 'vitals' outside of Baghdad.

Ides nothing, I'll be surprised if they don't start dropping bombs tonight. It shouldn't have taken this long...

Curious to know your assessment of "collateral damage" to the taxpaying season; might the White House hold off until after April 15th?

By gosh, I sure do hope that President Bush has seen this, sure would be a shame for him to not know when he is suppose to start the repeal of the cease fire operation.

"President Chirac, we will not forgive and we will not forget."Was this actually said by President Bush? Or is it created news?

The war has started. Bombs are falling already. The betting pool is tainted. Is their an unofficial start to this "war"?

"President Chirac, we will not forgive and we will not forget."
I doubt very much this is an actual Bush quote - according to insiders and those who know him well, he does not think like that, and doesn't operate on revenge, but on what is best for America, and for our future.

!!!!! GULF WAR 1 !!!!!
Iraq signed a CEASE FIRE not a peace treaty. They have violated the terms of the cease fire, so we have a legitimate right to CONTINUE the war.
