Tulsans Attend Pro-America Rally Location: Tulsa

Thousands of Tulsans showed their support for America's troops in a pro-America rally Sunday. It comes at a time when the country draws nearer every day to a decision to go to war.
They filed into Memorial Stadium to show support for their country, the President and the troops. They say now is the time to speak up.
"I think it's time for those in the majority to stand up and say what they really believe," says Ron Jackson.
Tulsa Mayor Bill Lafortune joined other Oklahoma dignitaries at the rally, including State Senator Scott Pruitt.
"They are there not only to provide protection for us," says Pruitt. "They are there standing on behalf of a belief and a conviction that America stands for freedom."
"Sometimes when I go around Washington, I see the war protestors and they make me mad," added U.S. Congressman John Sullivan.
U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe says the burden of proof is on Saddam Hussein, not the United States. The message is clear. They remember September 11th and they remember the troops every day.
During Sunday's rally, a group of anti-war protestors also gathered at 41st and Yale.

We must have been sitting right by you. You may have seen my sons and their signs taped to their light sabers...

Must have been right after taking off the roof on our SE corner (the black house, garage facing Lions).
Pretty liberal out there at UVa?

Pretty liberal out there at UVa? Last year I walked by a table on "the lawn" where they were giving out condoms to students who would join the Young Democrats. I wondered what Thomas Jefferson would think if he saw this going on at his university."Pretty" is an understatement. I was at the DC rally yesterday, and I can honestly say that your Tulsa rally blew the socks off of the Washington rally.
Do you have a horticulturist husband and two daughters?
By the way, I'mALLright lives 3 blocks from you.

Neither my husband nor I saw your sons. We were so busy trying to keep our two-year-old grandson from climbing all over the bleachers (and making lots of new acquaintances in the process) that between him and the rally, our attention was pretty well taken up.
My husband was one of the few veterans who stood up in our immediate area. We were taking turns holding up a large flag.
There was a family behind us with several children including a little boy about my grandson's age and a young couple sitting in front of us with an older woman in a black coat.
That's about all I can remember as far as the people in our immediate vicinity is concerned.

When all the veterans stood up, I told my 7-yr-old son to look around at all the men and women who have served our country. He was in awe. A wonderful moment.

Hubby and I listened to the 10:00 news. Channel 8 gave us favorable coverage. Then we turned to Channel 6 and discovered them in the middle of a good report. Afterward, we switched to Channel 2 and saw about a half a second of rally coverage so I have no idea what they said, but at least we know the rally was mentioned by the three main Tulsa stations.

Outstanding!!
My Wife's from Tulsa and when I told her she was thrilled.
Kinda funny that if the antibushers have their rallies, they claim that a majority of Americans are opposed to war, but when we have our rallies barely any of the scum show up. I guess they needed more time to phone all the rent-a-mobs in the area.
The only reason that they outnumber us in Fort Collins, there's a huge college campus there; and we all know that students who attend anti-war rallies get extra credit. Saturday, when I asked them over my trusty bullhorn, "How many of you over there are gonna get college credits for attending your little peace protest?!" Our FReepers got a real kick out of that.

I liked all the reports...they all turned out good.
I got the number 4000 from Channel Six on their dinner-time report. I heard Inhofe mention 3000, but there were still people pouring in when he said that.
It was simply incredible to see that endless line of people peacefully and calmly filing in to the stadium. Everyone was upbeat and positive (although some boo'd Hilary, but of course that can't be helped! ;~D)

Thanks! I wish I had better pictures to show the crowd...it was solid people on the one side of the stadium where they admitted us first. Then, after they opened the other side for the people that just kept coming, we shouted "USA!" across at each other.

I saw the channel 6 report, which was pretty good. They happened to show a couple of idiots protesting outside. One of them actually had a sign saying "These people are wrong!". I guess that confirms that those people really just hate America, because that was far from a Pro-war rally. It was more like an old-time revival!

At one point, Inhofe was talking about the French and Matthew shouted "Cheese Eatin' Sur---" before I could slap my hand over his mouth. Everyone around us knew what he was going to shout and just died laughing.
