PATRIOTS RALLY FOR AMERICA IV ON C-SPAN TODAY, 1:05 P.M. EST, 3/02/03
C-SPAN ^ | Sunday, March 2, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 03/02/2003 5:36:42 AM PST by kristinn

Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.

Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.

Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.

The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.

Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

EAGLES UP !!!

My request for a copy of anyone who taped CSPAN is still on the table. And I bet some nice Freeper out there would do it for less then $90.00.

Give it a rest. If you just want laurels thrown...run a better race.

In what specific way? Do you have *any* specific ideas? The only one you seemed to have was that we should have called off the rally altogether when we saw the weather was bad etc.

I don't recall anyone asking for laurels. We figure the Freeper community wants to know about the CSPAN rally. And many posts here indicate that we figure correctly.

Deb, your posts and your very thoughtful Freepmail to me (thank you for that) all proceed under assumptiosn about the terrible consequences of any perceived critique from the left of our rally. Well, that's coming anyway. I think NOT doing anything is even worse, though. And Mr. Azziz's speech was broadcast to *many* through CSPAN. I think you worry about the worst case scenario here. That's *always* an excuse to do nothing unless you can *bing* magically have a multi-thousand person rally.

I know those are the two choices, the only two, you think realistic. I have to tell you my response: I'm not feeding off of any praise here, I and others were working hard to bring more people out every way we could, you're just *wrong* to assume otherwise. But you're also *wrong* to assume that this was worse than nothing. You only reach that conclusion by assuming that the left will attack us for our numbers *and that will be damaging.* That last, asteriked part of the sentence is where I get off your train of logic. Of course they'll attack us. Let 'em. I'm focussed on what I can do for the troops, and I know -- I tell you again from firsthand experience -- what many of the Pentagon employees think of what we did yesterday.

Yup. And there are "union" buses for these anti-war protests too.

I sortta like this jmstein7. Fiesty bugger, we need that.

However, not prepared to go up against our Air Force General (seeking the truth) or a Doctor Raoul. Not enough prep.

Did you come yesterday? I can't remember if I saw you. If I did, um, LOL, it was great to see you again. I'm getting old before my time.

Or me. :) Easily baited. I'm hanging out on the thread just to see what Doctor Raoul does to him. :)

As I said to my boyfriend breathlessly (I hope this doesn't break our truce, JM, that we were both kinda laughing about your posts), he has one attribute of a good lawyer: persistence. You have to keep coming back when you're being pummeled: you never know when the tides might turn. But Doctor Raoul's correct: it's not a mere question of sophistry, you can't make a case if you don't in some fashion HAVE one. :) He's now doing to DR what he did to me: a young person demanding of an older person that they reveal their credentials and prove themselves. Tsk, tsk.

No, you're not getting old before your time! I was at the other three, including January's in the snow in zero degree weather. This weekend I was in New York and had to take a rain check until the next one. I was able to peek in once and see how things were going. You all did an amazing job getting the word out. The most dedicated effort so far. You are to be commended with a gold freeper star!

Without the benefit of a local radio host willing to really bang the drum and rally the troops as apparently happens in other cities or until we get a break in the weather, I don't see us ever having very large numbers here in D.C.

Obviously, I want you to be wrong. YOU want you to be wrong! How around this conundrum. Three things: (1) crack the nut and GET bigtime nationwide Rush sponsorship; (2) find a way to get LOTS more active military personnel participation, which is problem because there are rules that prohibit that, are there not?; or (3) get lucky -- help these college Republicans organize themselves maybe, and quickly -- so that we can have a college coalition. Or? ...

Yes, I will happily be wrong! :^) The only radio host I can see ever getting involved in any way is Chris Core on WMAL and that's only once the bombs really start dropping. Michael Graham may have before but he's left WTNT and their email doesn't explain why. All the other conservatives on the air I can think of are nationally syndicated.

Thanks for the info. I heard there was going to be a rally in Harrisbury on March 29, but I'll be out of town.

I wished I had taken the time to say hello to people, but I didn't want to interrupt the speeches, and by the time it was over, my feet were so cold, I just got out of there as fast as I could - onto dry pavement.

Once again, outstanding job to all the DC Chapter. And I'm so glad I'm able to say I stood with you. No regrets here.

I had to be "scrappy" to survive in a college awash in radical leftists. Law School is even more difficult as the class is smaller, and I've already gotten the "conservative" label affixed for all to see. Much to the chagrin of those who would take me to task for my views, I wear my badge with pride. It's kind of conditioned me to always be ready to fight back. And I do fight -- in the true Vince Lombardi sense of the word :) And unlike them, I know that I go to the war of words with the truth on my side.

I assure you that the great local coverage we got in our local papers will be read by the many many military men and women who live in or near DC. Thank you very much for coming. It's about them. :)

baseballmom, as head of the South Central Chapter, I have put you on my list. Wish I could have met you yesterday.

There is some talk of a rally on the 29th with the morning guys on WHP. Don't bet on it yet. I know you will be out of town.

We are working with Bob Durgan 3-6 drive time for something better. Will let you know.

Didn't see your post until just now. Sorry to have missed the C-Span coverage. Will it be aired again?
