Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.
Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.
Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.
The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.
Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.
EAGLES UP !!!

"I missed this part, I was one of the cars parked illegally."
LOL, it wouldn't be a DC rally without the DC police trying to tow some cars . . . . Sheesh.
Notice the complete absence of police: conservatives don't need police at their rallies. :D

I feel driven to do the rallies. It is important.
I'll forgive the Redskins hat Diane ;-).

LOL, don't worry. It's just in context it reads different than you meant, I think. I appreciate you trying to be helpful.
Kevin Martin is kicking some serious @$$!
Thank you Kevin for your service!

Actually, my Bill spent an hour on the press table and he was very sociable and graceful with the press. He did a good job.

No, I wasn't at the planning meetings. I've been out of the country for five weeks and didn't know about the rally at all. But the last rally was so tiny, I'm surprised another one was tried so soon.
My opinion is not an attack in any way and I certainly don't expect anyone involved to agree, but having been in Europe during the massive pro-Islamic, Marxist-backed, anti-war rallies (that still go on everyday in European cities), for C-SPAN to be broadcasting yesterday's rally in response, can be held up as a humiliation for the president.
Like I said, I know no one involved with the rally will agree, but at least try to look at it objectively.
I won't say anything more about it because I don't want you or anyone else to feel even more defensive.

Yup. FReepers turned out in Support our Troops Rallies large and small in cities and towns all across this great Republic this weekend. I'm so proud and grateful for these efforts that I'm about to burst my buttons. Thank you one and all, and God bless the FReepers!
God bless America and may God bless and protect our Troops!!

That belittles the horror and heartbreak of the Iraqi refugees and diminishes the entire message. It also gives the Left a huge opening to laugh their asses off. (The guy with the guitar was a big, cringe-inducing mistake.)While I totally admire and respect the spirit behind the rally, it makes me extremely sad it was held.
Oh, and one other thing. You don't admire and respect our efforts and our spirit. If you did, you wouldn't be making such nasty comments about good Americans who DID give of their time and their money and their energy to stand up for our troops. Your kind of admiration and respect I don't need, thanks.

All good points. Remember, they have no way of knowing whether we worked hard or just said we did. *I* know how hard you worked. And lots of military men and women know now.
When we were leafletting *near* the Pentagon, a lot of military men and women who were interested said to be doubtfully they weren't sure if they could come. I then pointed out it would be on CSPAN in such cases. I'm sure many watched.
Did you meet the many wives of deployed military men in the crowd? I'll take their judgment on whether this was a good thing over anyone else's any day of the week. And they were happy and grateful.
Remember, most of the posts here are supportive, TgslTakoma. I'd frankly *love* a critical post that actually points out something we didn't try in terms of turnout, sincerely I would, and I sincerely regret I don't see one. I regret the turnout. I don't regret our great team efforts. Frankly, with normal weather, I think we would have been at 1000.
Badray, you looked great in one of those CSPAN shots with that big yellow flag. Sorry I was busy and we didn't talk much: it was great to see you again! :)
