What toys come with a Happy Meal these days?

Heck, I cleaned up my entire house, hung about 10 pictures, hung a lamp, did the laundry and put it away, and have been babysitting for two of my grandchildren!

Unfortunately, we have seen over and over again that when TLBSHOW is busted, he still does not go away. Hope springs eternal, however.

No, sorry, I wasn't clear. His point was that the Fox story was true when it was reported; the pubbie strategy changed when their position grew stronger during the day. Tony at that point, when talking to Sean, already knew they weren't going to do a cloture vote, but he was telling Sean that indeed had been the plan earlier.

Here is the relevant escerpt from the Fox article:
"The last thing we want to do is to raise the bar for this particular nominee to 60 votes. Obviously, we can't stay on this issue forever," said Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., speaking with a tone of defeat already expressed by several Republicans.
"Miguel Estrada could lose," said Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah.
"I feel sorry for his family. I feel sorry for him. I only hope that if they succeed in denying him this, that he will not assume that we are like that," said Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M.
Frist told Fox News that he had no choice but to call the Democrats' bluff on the filibuster. A vote is scheduled for next Tuesday. [FOX CHANGED THIS TO: A decision is expected Monday and a vote could come as early as mid-week next week.]
"I would think the battle is just beginning. At that juncture, we would know who we need to talk to. I've got a feeling, I've got a sense that Democrats are entrenched, and our goal is to pull them out of those trenches. It may take a few days. It may take a few weeks it may take months but it's my goal to pull them out of those trenches."
This was a bad article when it appeared and we all discussed it at the time as poorly written and out of character for the GOP Senators involved. Fox does owe some explanation for this article, IMO. Revised Article is still here on Fox Republicans Try To Break Filibuster on Estrada

Sorry the site locked up.
Breaking
Rush just had a call from Hatch and he says that the fox story is not correct and there is no vote for Tuesday and that to have a real filibuster like the past can't happen because the senate changed the rules about 20 years ago? Anyone know about that one?
The battle does go on we are told.....
that is good news....I hope!
Oh and Rick's office called Rush too!
So I was wrong and the fox story was wrong where I based my thoughts on this from this.

I know that's the article excerpt but what I'm saying is that I think this is quotes being picked up from the floor debate that night.... Not quotes given directly to Fox news. Now they did list the Frist interview as an Exclusive....

See 448.
You are now on record as claiming the Fox story was FALSE and TRUE, all on the same thread.
Once again, you're wrong -- either way.

Someone at FoxNews might need to explain themselves on the one discrepancy that I highlighted above where they changed from "vote Tuesday" to "consider vote Monday for later". The fact they haven't leads me to wonder why they haven'e been demanded to do so. Maybe we wouldn't be happy if they did.
That is either a Fox mistake or a Frist mistake, and there is a lot else going on in the world that could have forced a change in strategy that we are not privy to. I don't believe for a second that Rush callers changed anything, but there are other considerations that sould have changed plans.
No one in their right mind thinks that this is Numero Uno on Bush's mind right now. The timing on this takes its priority from other events.
Maybe it all is hard to follow right now because we Freepers don't know everything.
I mean really, any of right now could move our discussion totally to a thread on Gulf War 2, or Al Qaeda, or the Turkey situation, or North Korea, or the UN vote, or the Economy...(ad infinitum).
President Bush and his team must deal with all these simultaneously. (plus lack of sleep over TLBSHOW doubting him). We don't know everything guys.

Please pick one from the following quotes as your opinion:
A. "So I was wrong and the fox story was wrong where I based my thoughts on this from this."

HERE
B. "I apologized for going by the fox story as written last night for part of my opinion"

C. "Fox news wrote it and printed it so until they say its wrong its right."

D. I really am confused and pick all of the above.
You may have exceeded the allowable number of flip-flops with THIS issue, Todd.

And don't forget Rush got suckered into this one too. He just had the sense to drop it and let the GOP have the benefit of the doubt.
If Fox got this wrong, they should admit it. Not just change the wording and ignore the original version. But, just maybe they are laying off the story for the good of the GOP.
