[Civil Disobedience Now!] JUDGES WHO BANNED THE PLEDGE MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE BENCH

Catholic League president William Donohue commented on the decision reached today by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upholding a challenge to its decision banning the Pledge of Allegiance because of the words under God. Here are his remarks:
Two things need to be done immediately: teachers and students should practice civil disobedience and the judges must be impeached.
It is up to the teachers in the nine western states affected by this decision to break the law: they should instruct their students on the meaning of civil disobedience and then practice it. All they need to do is call the cops and local TV reporters and then recite the Pledge of Allegiance in their presence. It needs to be shown on television all over the world that as the U.S. prepares to go to war to maintain the liberties symbolized in the Pledge, there are brave men, women and children at home who are prepared to fight tyranny on our own soil.
Iraqs problem is tyranny of the minority. Ironically, thats our problem as well. But the Iraqi people at least stand to be liberated and have their tyrant deposed. We need to do the same with ours, albeit with different means: impeachment proceedings against the two federal judges who made this decision should commence as soon as possible. Make no mistake about it, it is not enough for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn this ruling. Judicial malpractice has been committed and those responsible must be removed from the bench. They should be removed not because most Americans disagree with them but because of jurisprudential incompetence.

Well, maybe you can explain to us why "under God" was not added to the pledge until the 1950s, if God has blessed us since the inception. It never occurred to anyone to do so until the Red Scare of the 1950s? The reality is that "under God" was added not for religious reasons, but to contrast us with "godless Communism." Which, obviously, is true enough. But, hardly worth changing something that had been in existence for 150 years.

Then you're old enough to know that "In God We Trust" was not added to our treasury notes until the Red Scare of the 1950s -- i.e. the same time the pledge was modified.

ok, two can play that game:
federal judges can be impeached and reversed on appeal because they can ALSO be wrong

Very well said!! I can remember starting every day with the pledge, a devotion and prayer. Then every 6 weeks, we had an assembly of all the grades in the auditorium which was usually led by a Church of Christ minister. I have never been a member of that branch of Christianity but we all appreciated what he did. He was teaching by example that there was a power greater than us who we should thank every day for this country. We also did song rounds or whatever you call them at these assemblies. We never had any of the trouble that kids get into today. I really appreciate my upbringing. That was just the way things were done back then and believe me, not one person complained about saying the pledge, saluting the flag or having the devotion every day.

Well, as most Americans know, it bans children at school from reciting the pledge in its current form.

Point of View - Today's BroadcastCitizen's Call for Action Petition to Members of the House Judiciary Committee
We must take action to defend the heritage, the faith, and the freedoms of this great nation by IMPEACHING judges Alfred T. Goodwin and Stephen Reinhardt. They have violated the Constitution by ignoring the will of the people. The framers of our Constitution intended checks and balances to keep freedom alive in this country. Sadly, the judicial system has remained unchecked far too long. I feel that IMPEACHMENT is the appropriate action against these judges who have violated our trust and their Constitutional role.
Sign the petition for impeachment!
Liberty Counsel
The Ninth Circuit has always been a radical, left-leaning court. A recent survey showed that 80%-90% of the Ninth Circuits decisions are reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court. In one recent term, the Supreme Court reversed 24 of the Ninth Circuits decisions, and 16 of those decision were reversed by a 9-0 opinion by the United States Supreme Court. Its hard to find the United States Supreme Court unanimously agreeing on anything, but one thing it has agreed on is that the Ninth Circuit is in left field.
It is time for Congress to take action and impeach the two judges on this Federal Court. They will only act if we all get involved and let them know our outrage. I am asking you to sign this petition and forward it to all your friends. You may not be able to go overseas and fight for our freedoms, but you can take a stand by signing this petition.
One of the two judges in the majority, Stephen Reinhardt, is a holdover from the liberal judges appointed by President Carter. This judge is even left of the Ninth Circuit Court. Judge Reinhardt once issued an opinion that the United States Constitution guarantees the right to assisted suicide. This decision was overruled. During one term of the Supreme Court, this same judge was unanimously reversed 5 separate times by the High Court on 5 separate cases. Obviously a judge like this does not belong on a Federal Court.
In just a few days America will celebrate its 226th birthday on the Fourth of July. In spite of what a couple of liberal judges say, this is still "One Nation Under God."It is imperative that every patriotic American signs this petition.
This petition will immediately be forwarded to all 535 members of the U.S. Congress. Those members have the authority to remove these judges. This petition will also be sent to President George W. Bush.
After you sign this petition, please forward this web link to everyone you know. Every family member and friend must join together with us and take a stand against this assault of the American spirit.

A major earthquake will now hit California causing major destruction as a result of this insult to the Almighty God by the ninth circuit court and the failure of the people to speak up and stop this.

As to the Pledge decision, I know of not 1 school that ever forbade a child from leaving the room when it was being recited. JW kids never ever say it.

I too learned the pledge before "under God," was added, I was in favor of the addition at the time, I am very strongly opposed to it's removal now.
A slap at communism is always worthwhile.
