If this theme park bears some reality what life really was like under communist rule, perhaps we can start a fund to have some diehard socialsts to visit and experience life in a socialist paradise.

Will they have an Epcot-like "Tomorrow the World"?

Is this what "Celebrate Diversity" is all about?

"Celebrate and Embrace Communism!!!"

12,000 square meters of concrete electrified barbed wire and guard dogs. A relaxing place to wind up a day of bunkers and concentration camps. What fun!

Blindfold the kids and hear them squeal as they fall into the padded trench when gunfire and jets of compressed air strike them! Catch a 20 minute dose of simulated dysentry! What fun!

I hope they don't forget to sign up every other visitor to spy on the rest. That should lend realism to the place. Having traveled to Germany a few months ago I am sure they already have the sand paper, oops I meant toilet paper, covered.

I want the bullet concession. "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave..."

"What we want to do is create a space where you can experience everyday GDR culture."

Hell, they should have just saved the construction costs and bought everyone a ticket to Maine.

Lo these many years of Democrat control have created a worker's paradise.

I have heard that the Communist theme park will be called "The Magical Mysery Tour".

Maybe they'll have the Berlin Wall obstacle course.

Remember those concrete cylinders laid horizontally on top of the wall? They fell off if you put your weight on them. Naturally, you'd get rolled flat.

Wouldn't the kiddies just LOVE that?

"Theme park visitors will also be able to ride the infamous Trabant cars."

What, has the last Lada broken down?

Yes, it's for real. I've seen documentaries, showing parties that "Ossis" have, in which they express nostalgia for the days of the DDR, driving Trabants, and hiring impersonators of Erich Honecker and Vladimir Lenin.

This is the next logical step.

Regards, Ivan

From the movie "Top Secret",

The East German National Anthem:

Hail, hail East Germany
Land of vine and grape.
Land where you'll regret
Any try to escape
No matter if you tunnel under
Or take a running jump at the wall,
Forget it, the guards will kill you
If the electric fence doesn't first.

To make it more releastic, they should require people to cross barbed wire and a no-man's land protected by machine gun wielding guards in order to leave the museum. Let's help people realize just how "warm and fuzzy" those poor misguied social experimenters really were.
