I wish I knew! I had heart palpitations today!Me too!
But I can give up Free Republic at any time. I don't need this site for my daily news fix.

Should I get the duct tape back out?

Game over...Insert more quarters.

I have a couple of questions...
Is it normal for your OWN ISP to be running 'probes' on your computer? (dial-up, and it's 1:50 a.m., slow time)
Is that website's 'product' easy to use, for 'blonde' FReepers, like ME?
To: ConservativeLawyer
"Should I get the duct tape back out?" Yup...and you'll need a little alum foil on this one too.

What kind of hits are you getting from your ISP?
And I assume you're asking if AVG is easy to use. Very: Download. Get installation key, the instructions for which they'll send you in an e-mail. Install. Spend two or three minutes configuring it, and you probably won't need to touch it again. Configure it to update its virus definitions daily and to run a daily scan for viruses. It has a very simple interface.
MM
P.S. If you respond on the kind of hits you're getting from your ISP and don't hear from me again tonight, it's because tis late here. :-)

You have mail coming!

I see said the blind man, as he picked up the hammer and saw!!
My friend in Jamaica had her server go haywire late yesterday, so she has had to communicate via Hotmail. I think her provider is out of Florida, however--no ".jm" suffix on her address.

When other countries have web addresses, they have a suffix that identifies where they're from, such as:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/ (United Kingdom), www.spiegel.de/ (Deutschland), or
http://www.uwimona.edu.jm/ (.jm = Jamaica).
Now, aren't you glad you stayed up late tonight? ;o)

Must be great but the install crashes on my XP box.
It attempts to open a dos window ("legacy technology" anyone?) and crashes in some 16-bit app or something. Never completes the install. Not impressive.

So far it's great this morning.
And, I didn't have any slowdowns yesterday unlike other people are reporting. My problems were all FR.

Im glad its back up. Needing a news forum I went to to the message boards at slate.com. I ended up fleeing in terror. All I did was ask what the difference was between Milosevich and Saddam Husseain and if Clinton was beating the war drums against saddam, would these dissenters be supporting it? After about 7 straight posts calling me a right wing crazy, someone called me a fag! One even suggested that if I like Nazis so much, why didnt I shave my head! The worst part about it was, they all called themselves patriots. Good Lord, how they hate over there! Thanks John Robinson, for all of your help, and Freepers stay away from Slate.com!!!
