It's from "Studio Daniel Libeskind-Berlin". They must have given the best input, not only the looks but also different other reasons. Maybe some sort of very good German safety ingenering ??!!

I liked this one, too. It's far more inspired than the blocky drivel that came out of the first design go-around.

And I think at the same time the proportions complement with the NYC skyline far better than many of the other designs.

The architect is of Polish descent and an American Citizen... don't be so quick to judge.

Funny you mention that. I thought it was rather bizzare that when the architect was explaining his design, he said it's layed out in such a way that on Sept. 11 at exactly the time the first jet hit the first tower the light will stream between the buildings into the center of the plaza. It sounded highly occultic, like Stonehenge or the pyramids. This is just weird. Very New Age. Very much like a pagan holy site.

Lots of Cathedrals use that same light and shadow technique as well. It was very popular in the days before the light bulb came along.

I personally like the idea. Human memory fades, ceremonies die off as those directly involved grow old and die but as long as the building stands there will be a memorial to what happened there.

I like that. I like the 1776 Spire. The rest could use a little work.
