The President will speak on the subject of Iraq tonight at 7:00 pm EST. I know that MSNBC will be carrying it. If anyone can let us know who else will or will not be carrying the speech, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

What's really strange is that this wasn't scheduled as late as this AM....
In fact, when CBS and the WH got into their snit this AM regarding whether the President would be available, the WH was quite insistent that the Presidents time was not available do to previous engagements.....
Hastily scheduled speech on Iraq?

Roger, concur. It will be more of the same thing that we have been hearing for months now. Frankly, for me, it is getting a bit tiresome.

"BTW, is FR slow for you? It's like molasses here!"
Extremely slow.
By the way, have any of the news outlets given any context for the speech? Usually the White House releases a little bit of the expected content.

I figured that the speech tonight will be full of rhetoric and such, but I still think it will be an important speech. Like Wait4Truth said, this might be one of the last speeches he gives on the issue before he gives the BIG one from behind the Oval Office desk.

Thanks for posting those flags. I've always loved them.

If I recall correctly, first word of the Desert Storm air campaign came at 6:41 eastern, during the evening news, and Bush 41 addressed the nation at 7:00 pm.
What a heady night that was!

This speech was previously scheduled before some group. I saw it mentioned this morning and I'll try to find more info.

But this can't be true! FoxNews is carrying the Blake/Bakley preliminary hearing LIVE! What is with FNC lately? It seems to be losing its grip to me.
FreeRepublic is sloooooowwww....
Also tonight is the last night of "Sweeps" so I guess the President had to take a non-prime time slot, I mean we can't have a little thing like Iraq interfere with Westwing or BarbaraWalters/blake interview or important stuff like that can we?

But we didn't know in advance about that 7 PM address in '91, did we?
By the way, is the speech tonight from the Oval Office?

From what I heard, it will lay the case out why Saddam must be removed... was watching Ari's press conference... but cooking lunch so I came in on the tail end of the statement.
