witness, Dean Fulbright, said he saw the accident, chased Al-Salmi, and returned him to the crash scene...Fulbright kept Al-Salmi at the crash scene until police arrived

I just love those two lines in the story. Leaves alot to the imagination on how he "returned him to the crash scene" and "kept" him there until police arrived.

"Don't take a number" and "stand by the window" don't get your immigration issues taken care of.

This was a good catch. I'm glad it's not so easy for them to get away with lame explanations anymore.

Before 9/11, no one would have paid this bloke much attention.

A witness, Dean Fulbright, said he saw the accident, chased Al-Salmi, and returned him to the crash scene...

No details on HOW he "returned him to the crash scene". Was he armed, very persuasive or just NFL linebacker tough looking? In some states if you physically restrain an individual you can be charged with a crime.

From the sounds of things, this guy would not have returned "voluntarily".

"I don't know. I may be missing something. There was the oil refinery fire in New York on Friday, Minnestota yesterday, and somene said there was one on Monday. I thought it was Chicago. Could there have been two oil refinery fires on Monday?"

I think the refinery fire was in East Chicago, IN. It's just over the border from IL and not far from Chicago.

Strange. You'd think Drudge would at least pick up on it.

"By the way, where's John 'no such thing as terrorism' H K?"

I've never seen his posts do much but ad a note of cold logic into threads about industrial accidents and stomach bugs, where posters are in full tin foil hat mode and are easy to imagine in the danger zone of having a stroke.

Sounds like a citizen arrest after witnessing a crime. No law against that. Illegally detaining someone is a crime, but in this case, I would think that this was not an illegal detention.

Doesn't everybody remember that Mohammad Atta was in a traffic accident. He was given a ticket as well...

And Timothy McVeigh was caught speeding, and he was also interested in Federal buildings.

Off to Gitmo, I say-or better yet, give him to the Turks.

A week in a Turkish dungeon and he'll be-chatty.

Another odd thing is the incident happened on Frbruary 19th. Today is the 26th. It took a week for this to BEGIN to hit the news! It's got legs, and it's walking slower than cold molassas!
