If the stories we read of the fear the Democrats have of Al Sharpton's primary campaign, an effective tactic might be to call Democratic senators and tell them that we will trade our votes for Sharpton for their votes against Estrada.

Good idea. At least half of the states have open primaries or blanket primaries, where Republicans and Independents can cross-over and vote for a DemocRAT candidate. With 8 or 10 DemocRAT candidates, if enough Republicans and Independents cross-over and vote for Sharpton, they can really throw a monkey-wrench into the DemocRAT primary process.
