Senate Takes Up Estrada again-- 930am EST

Using the toll free numbers on yesterday's thread-I called our Majority leaders office to implore staying the course, just as our President has done,

called Hatch's office, suggesting a 24/7 filibuster to put the dems time where their ugly vocal comments lay and asked him to PLEASE READ the letter of rebuttal that the WH counsel sent to Sen Schumer regarding Schumer's mischaracterizations and outright LIES over the weekend,

called Zell Miller's office to thank him for putting the judicial nomination system and fairness to a citizen, Miguel Estrada above popularity with his own party-really thanked him for this.

Called Landrieu's office and railed against her hypocrisy for saying in campaign ads she supported Estrada and now sitting on the fence-asked her if she ever held to a conviction and wondered if Hillary was now her voice.

Called Daschle's office-could not leave a message there.

Called Schumer's office and left a recording (had to call his NY office-number given on DC office recording- so had to pay for this one but it was well worth it!) Told Schumer to READ the letter the WH counsel sent him refuting his weekend lies-asked if he had sold his soul to the hillary war room.

called Hillary's office and left recorded message-saying right off the bat that this office was the first one I ever encountered that was not even interested enough in a call to request name and address or phone number of caller-asked the staff if they felt embarrassed by working for that heinous human who not only works to undermine our rule of law and tradition but has a personal vendetta against Estrada known by all. Asked if Hillary had ever done ANYTHING that put the welfare of the nation above her own drive to control.

Called Harry Reid's office and there was not even a chance to record a message offered. Sick puppy! No answer. What a coward.

Oh-and called my senator Bayh's office and said today was the day I quit calling his office to learn his vote for or against Estrada-asked if he was a man of character or not-said I was tired of the game-and that the new sign on my rear windshield was going to read-'Our Senator Bayh does not support Estrada. Where is your conviction, your character, Senator Bayh?'

hehe My voice is broadcast all over the office phones in DC-hope it helps our cause.

the Bush administration is fighting ...

I am seeing in President Bush one of the traits that I admired most in Ronald Reagan -- straight talk and deep resolve on issues that he deeply believes in. I am glad to see this morning that the President is not wavering on the Estrada nomination. He believes in it and wants to see it happen. And he is sending the message that he wants to see it happen. I also sense that he is willing to do more "public press appearance" work to bring the issue into public view. (It may be easy for the media to ignore what's going on in the Senate chamber, but it's a lot more difficult to report NOTHING on a Presidential public appearance.)

I like what I'm seeing.

I came to a nasty perception of him too-especially when I discovered-at least at 8:15 AM today that his office is not responding to calls-at all. Gutless and without dignity comes to mind.

Graham is still Graham means that he is using his recovery from surgery to avoid taking a stance on Estrada thereby alienating NOW or alienating Florida voters.

He's healthy enough to announce for the presidency (exp comm.); he's healthy enough to take a position on Estrada, like his Junior Senator Bill Nelson (YES)
