I thought Frist called for a recess until noon or so tomorrow.

I think he said that they won't call for another quorum call until tomorrow. Everyone left after that.

Wasn't he recently convicted for embezzling investment money from elderly clients and his wife?

And it wasn't his wife .. it was his mother in law I believe

Richard Nixon said before he died, you will be able to find out anything that you want to know, if you stay on the Vince Foster suicide.

Whoa! For real?

I think you are right! We were talking at the end of the thread last night about the Clintons. Now with Cox being thrown in the mix, I am convinced we are right.

Remember how the RATs refused to go look at those documents that people like Senator Graham (then Cong) said would change their minds. My two Senators from OK said the same thing.

Estrada knows what was in those documents would be my guess. BTW Estrada went to work for the law firm that Starr worked for at one time!

Then why is Graham still talking?

But it would be funny if Frist called another quorum call for say ... 3AM

You're right - it was Nussbaum in Foster's office. Archibald Cox is who Hillary worked with during the Nixon years.

Thanks for the correction! You've calmed me down a little.

I'm following you on the dirty Clinton trail except I have this question.
If she organizing opposition to Estrada because of what he knows that assumes Estrada has serious dirt on Clinton, right? Well, why if he had this dirt would he wait till he's appointed to the Fed Court to say anything? Why would his position on the Fed Bench be more of a threat to her then him just coming out and saying the dem's are opposing me because I know this and this about the Clintons? Is it just because he would be safe on the bench for life and could spill the beans? Help me I'm lost
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I haven't followed all this discussion and it's late and it's been a long day.

REVERSE FILIBUSTER.

I think you nailed it. I was thinking the same thing, although not that term, but that describes it perfectly. Perhaps the idea is to wear down the dems until they cry uncle.

This is simply part of the bigger picture. There's a new sherrif in town, but the demos keep challenging Bush to duels and keep getting wasted. With each defeat they get more desperate and set themselves up for ever bigger falls. If this keeps up, we could well be witnessing the democratic party being ripped into 2. If Bush is looking solid in 2004 the dems will be in a real quandry. Some will say they have to be more mainstream, while others will say they have to offer a stark alternative to Bush. Speaking of "reverse filibuster" we could well see a "reverse Perot" in 2004, in which someone like Howard Dean runs as an independent. This splits the lib/dem vote and Bush wins in a landslide, and hopefully strengthening his numbers in Congress.

quorum call - A call of the roll to establish whether a quorum is present. If any Senator "suggests the absence of a quorum," the Presiding Officer must direct the roll to be called. Often, a quorum call is terminated by unanimous consent before completion, which permits the Senate to use the quorum call to obtain a brief delay to work out some difficulty or await a Senator's arrival.

Graham was great this AM. Love it when they name names and throw back the Rat quotes about filibusters. Firist is finishing up.

I know you are absolutely right, I was just trying to point out if you were on the wrong side philosophically, it would be held against you, even if you say "I will uphold the law"
