President Bush began his day by speaking to the leaders of Greece and Bulgaria regarding the situation in Iraq and the war on terror. From there, the President had a meeting with the National Economic Council to talk about the latest trends in the economy and to receive a status report on the economic plan that he has proposed to the Congress to help the economy to grow faster. Later in the day, Bush met with a group of Republican House and Senate leaders to discuss the upcoming congressional agenda. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

It's on in about 20 minutes here, so I'll watch that and record Hannity and Colmes.
I love to hear that-support for our President.

My step mother has alzheimers. A sweeter woman you'd never meet. My father is caring for her in such a loving way...here's this old country burly man combing her hair, washing her and helping her get dressed. When we last visited them, she couldn't figure out how to get into the car or buckle her seatbelt. Before she retired her occupation was Charge Nurse at a large hospital. So sad to see her now. She's still sweet as can be though...and I honor my father for taking care of her. Sure wished they lived closer.

WOW -- just finished watching Dennis Miller on Leno, I still have tears in my eyes from laughing and crying (he said some really poignant stuff about the president at the end of his monologue that really touched me-- and the crowd actually cheered!).
West coasters -- this is a MUST see (I've got to track down a transcript)!!!!!

He had some great stuff. Thinks we should get the war started "who's gonna stop us? The 'elite Republican Guard?' does anyone remember them from the first war? they were the roadrunner dust clouds running away." Had a good comment about Ed Harris who spoke at a Pro-abortion dinner weeks ago. He thought Ed should look at getting rid of Hussein as retroactive abortion, then maybe he could wrap his head around the idea.
He said that France should be the concierges to the Iraqi people after we liberate them. He also had some good comments about the horrible stuff that "peace protesters" are saying about Bush. He said if you see these protesters calling Bush a Hitler, you should forget about your peacefulness for a minute and beat his a$$.
Funny stuff and great to hear the applause.

Oh yes, believe me I know..I am surrounded my liberals everywhere I turn, enough to drive a person insane. I am trying to convert people, I may have swayed a couple of misinformed liberals
To: DrDeb
I didn't hear anything negative from anyone in the audience or Leno. They just stood back and let him roll.
That was nice, and different, and not something that gets said every day. No peace protesters tonight. It is something for a California crowd to cheer for the President like that. Some of it was crude, but meant to be praise for the President.

Hey AZ how are you? I have about had it with all of the typical liberal nonsense. They are getting on my last nerve. If they only knew how dumb they sounded. I hope things are going well for you in school!!

Bless your father's heart. My aunt took care of her husband's aunt for awhile. She was at least an eighty year old woman and had alzeimers. She was so hard on my aunt because she was very stubborn and would somehow manage to escape from the house, but she wouldn't know how to get back. She just gave my aunt the hardest time.
It must be so hard to watch someone you love not remember things and just slowly slip away. My heart goes out to anyone who has to deal with that.

Boy this will pick you up out of the dumps. He said (paraphrasing) re: the peaceniks, go ahead and protest or be dissidents, that's the American way, but this bulls--t about putting nazi swastikas and equating Bush to Hitler has got to stop. He said if you are at a "peace" rally and the person next to you has a sign saying Bush is like Hitler, forget about peace for a minute and kick their ass. LOL
Also, in speaking about our W, he said he didn't know what to expect of Bush when he was first elected, but he has really grown to like and respect him. He is protecting us, and he really got a lousy deal handed to him, especially 9/11 and after. Oh, I wish I had taped it. It made me laugh and get up and cheer - I hope I didn't wake anybody up. The audience was really with him, too. It was GREAT
To: clevelandrocks
I hope that you caught Dennis Miller on Leno. He was great. He said that pacifism is great, dissent is great, but "do me a favor: If you're out protesting the war and the protester next to you is carrying a sign that says 'Bush is Hitler,' put down your sign and beat the crap out of the guy."
After some good jokes about France and Saddam Hussein he got serious and looked at the camera and said to the president, "If you're watching, I just want to say to you that I think you're doing a hell of a job. You've got all kinds of people trying to tear you down but I'm with you all the way." Of course I'm paraphrasing. He also said that he's going to start a web site: www.dubya.com
He said he used to be a liberal, but no more.
