The only question I have is: Since I'm being TORTURED , can I take the record companies to court & get a big settlement????

I suppose you can guess what era I came of age! And 30 years later, these songs (and many others) continue to pop into my head, even though I haven't heard them on the radio for decades now.

About a song or ditty that sticks in your head: Reminds me of a short story Mark Twain (Samuel Clemmons) wrote. He was on a train and a snappy tune was sung by one of the engineers or something. It was a catchy rhyme they would use when validating (punching) ones ticket. I don't remember the whole tune, but the refrain went something like

"...Punch brothers, punch with care, punch in the presence of the passenger"...

Apparently it drove him crazy too, until he got someone ELSE to sing it. Made a cute story, and this thread relived a nice memory associated with it.

Perhaps someone should do a computer analysis of all the songs people get stuck in their heads. Come up with the ultimate mind entrancer. Could be an interesting weapon, totaly occupying the mind of everyone that hears it, making them catatonic.
