We've lost a number of good people already, this war will take more from us. We should always remember they are true heros, not the protestors that Rosie Perez sees in a mob. A hero is someone who puts thier life , personal fortune or future at risk for the benifit or safety of others.
I will remember them in my prayers and thoughts daily.
May God bless them and thier families

If anyone hears what unit they were from or the names can you please post it here? A close friend of mine is a Blackhawk pilot in a medevac unit and until this weekend was stationed in Germany. I don't know where he is right now, he was going to write when he got there.
Thanks.

Saddam's oil is going to come at a high price. Prayers to the true victims of the economy.Saddam's oil is meaningless. Iraq is the 7th largest producer of oil and supplies under 4% of U.S. requirements. This war is about keeping Saddam from financing and supplying resources to the militant Islamic terrorists. The WTC was their first big success. If we don't act, they will be back for more.

Damn!

I do not believe that this war is going to justify the high cost in lives. You, don't know what you are talking about. You sound like all those experts; Crowe, Hackworth, ad infinitum, who made the same claim before Desert Storm. Instead of offering a platitude how about sticking your neck out and making a real prediction, patriot.

I agree totally with Richard. You are anti-American. What choice do you think we have? Would you rather we sit here and wait to be destroyed by the terrorists? Or are you one of those people who think we can give Saddam more time to build up his arsenal while we discuss peace with him?

Saddam's oil is going to come at a high price. Prayers to the true victims of the economy. Someday, if you're lucky, you'll get the right to politely kiss the @ss of everyone who's ever died for your right to say really stupid and naive things.

This was, iirc, a night training mission practicing insertion.
We civilians have absolutely no freaking idea how dangerous this stuff is, though still officially at peace, we're up by the Badlands and at the cusp of a major battle in the War on Terror.
God Bless these fine, departed gentlemen, and keep their families.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

You should be ashamed.

They died so others may live free. God bless them and their families.

We civilians have absolutely no freaking idea how dangerous this stuff is... Having been in a couple of helicopters where the pucker-factor began to zoom nonlinear, I can vouch for that. ...and mine were just Coast Guard and Marines helos. Things sometimes got plenty scary without also having to worry about being shot at.
