Maryland cementing its position as one of the three dumbest states in the Union.

Just another "democratic" way to remove money from people's pockets.

Isn't this a violation of federal law?

Come on now. How else are the poor things going to deliver their groceries purchased with food stamps to the housing provided by the government. Oh yeah, why not provide them an automobile, too! No, an SUV! No, a...

They had to do it. We in VA just passed legislation that would keep them from doing it here. Now if we can just get the Rat governor to sign it.

WOW!
Thanks for the heads up. I just e-mailed the delegate in my district. I strongly suggest that everyone in Maryland do the same.
This is beyond an EMBARRASMENT for this state, this is out-right LUNACY.

I don't understand. To me, what this seems to say is that a person applying for a Maryland drivers license cannnot be required to provide further proof of citizenship if they can show a U.S. Birth Certificate. Am I wrong? It seems to me that such a document should be proof. What's the issue here?

They are also doing everything possible to disarm their people. It sounds like MD should be the target of a vote-fraud investigation. I don't see how any intelligent population can elect such a self destructive legislature.

I guess you would rather have them driving without licenses, completely out of the system, which would mean no insurance. There's a good idea.

Speak out against this bad legislation at a public hearing by Maryland's House Judiciary Committee. Details are: Wednesday, 5 March, 2003 at noon. I won't make it, but 1 of my 3 delegates will be there on my behalf (that's how representative democracy is supposed to work, right). I worked to get this outstanding constitutional conservatve elected, and while he does need a new photo for his profile, I'm sure he'll have some choice words for this bill.
BTW, the committee has 13 democrats and 7 Republicans. MPT records and airs many Assembly hearings late at night, so you probably be able to see this one. I bet the bill fails in committee.
