Afghanistan: Blast Reportedly Kills Special Forces Group
Feb 24, 2003
Unconfirmed reports from Afghanistan on Feb. 24 say that a number of U.S. Special Forces "officials" were killed after an explosion occurred under their vehicle. The group was traveling in the provice of Zarmat. New sources have conflicting information about the exact number of fatalities. Initial reports were that 10 Americans were in the double-cab vehicle and that all were killed. Reports from the Daily Islam and the Pakistan-based Daily Ausaf, which have been translated and posted by jihadunspun.com, did not say whether the vehicle was destroyed by an explosive device placed under the vehicle or if the it struck a landmine.http://www.jihadunspun.com/intheatre_internal.php?article=46054&list=/home.php&.

The Pak sources in the past have been full of bs and lies. Let's hope and pray that their credibility remains low, although I am frankly bothered that STRATFOR is the secondary source, which seems to give it some credence (hopefully NOT!).

If this is true it will on CNN any moment.

Somehow I doubt that Stratfor would have a big story like this long before CNN or Fox.
The Pakistani-jihadist press reports Americans being killed in Afghanistan pretty much on a daily basis.

what's with the 'jihadunspun' name. Are they making fun of the jihadis or have the jihadis gone in for a kindler, gentler approach to killing infidels.
To: laconic
Google News indicates that this story is 8 hours old. I doubt this happened as we would have 'confirmation' by now.

Let's hope it isn't true. I just spoke with my son an hour ago, and although we can't talk about anything, I can always tell if something has gone wrong. He sounded fine. I would think all troops overseas would hear about this pretty quickly if it did happen.

Jihadunspun is highly unreliable.

SF guys die often enough and it is not reported. Black ops units are easy to cover for, its when the main combat units start suffering casualties that things are hard to cover up. SF guys, like a fraternity brother of mine, die from "training accidents". He was a Navy Seal who fell out of a high story window during training in Central America. Funny, the family hired PI found out that his heli was shot down over the Nicaraguan border....end of story.

I believe that they have reported a lot of killed GI's in the past year, that have not panned out.
If this story was true, ABCNNNCBS would be running this 24/7 as breaking news.
