College Students On Alert After Bizarre Incident
Man Apparently Grabbed Student, Licked Her Hand
POSTED: 7:53 a.m. CST February 24, 2003 UPDATED: 7:53 a.m. CST February 24, 2003
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Students at Missouri Western State College are being warned about a man who accosted a student by grabbing her arm and licking her hand, KMBC's Emily Aylward reported Sunday.
"I was going into the Fine Arts building and saw a sign warning us that there is someone out there prowling or something like that," student Lemecce West said.
According to local and campus police, the incident happened Thursday around 12:30 p.m. in the middle of campus.
The woman told police that she was walking to her car, when a man pulled up, grabbed her arm through his car window, licked it, then let her go and drove away.
Within in a matter of hours, school officials put the word out about the incident.
"This is the first time in the last five years that we've put out an alert of this nature," said Kristy Hill, of Missouri Western State College.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s or 40s, balding, and who was driving a dark green Nissan.

"This is the first time in the last five years that we've put out an alert of this nature," So they also had lick and run problems 5 years ago? But Lick Willie got away, apparently someone was unable to hold their licker.
Or is it a tax avoidance issue, a guy operating without a licker license? This story has me tongue-tied, but after getting a taste of the Scope of the problem, I'd say search the post office, this licking needs to be stamped out.
