And grandsons?
To: kattracks
Why is the Post revealing this? Better yet, why would this be leaked in the first place?
To: kattracks
Qusay, who heads Saddam's personal Republican Guard unit, has orders to unleash weapons of mass destruction should something happen to his father, according to British intelligence. I didn't know champagne was a WMD. I think a better analogy would be like the Wicked Witch melting, and the flying monkeys flapping their wings with joy.
To: kattracks
Didn't Saddam put out a hit on Qusay a few years ago, leaving him partially paralyzed?
Does anyone know why he still has allegiance to his father?

We're certainly grateful to the Post for laying out these warplans for us. I'm sure every commanding officer is quite eager to relay these plans to Saddam.
More likely, I'd advise Saddam not to peek out his shutters lest he look down the scope of a sniper.

I have yet to see any of these type articles where secret or not so secret plans are supposedly revealed as being any great revelation to Saddam.
My favorite so far was early on in the war planning where secret plans were reported in the press and the crying and nashing of teeth started in earnest. The jist of these secret plans you ask?
We are going to use air, land and sea forces.
That is about as useful as saying our military plans involve the use of soldiers and...
guns.

"Special "hunter-killer teams and aircraft would target Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein - and his two evil sons - within 48 hours of the launch of any military campaign, The Post has learned. The moves would include a series of massive, surgical airstrikes and commando raids in the opening hours of the action. Specially trained operatives would target Saddam, sons Uday and Qusay and other key aides."
Well, I'm sure our guys will be safer now that the NY Post has posted this article. We'll see, won't we?

The world would certainly be different, if Carter had sent six aircraft carriers to the Persian/Arab gulf and backed it up with a firm threat to attack Iran, if the hostages were not released.
But that task was left to Reagan.
Now Bush is faced with cleaning up messes left when Clinton backed down in 1998.

Qusay...has orders to unleash weapons of mass destruction should something happen to his father, The WMD they don't have? How are they going to do that?

... that Saddam, once attacked, will resort to "scorched earth tactics,Geez, what astute insight. Saddam will play the Hitler card til the end. Any fool could figure that one out.
But even Hitlers generals did not want to destroy everything when they knew it was just a matter of time.
Hitlers biggest fear was to be paraded in a rolling cage through the streets of Moscow... like Von Paulus.
Saddam will not be taken alive.

To: kattracks
I predict Saddam will die one way or another. Same for one of his sons. I'm praying we capture one of his sons alive

Nothing would be better than these three heads on a pike with instructions that anyone who lays down their arms will be treated fairly.
We might avoid further war right there.
Of course, we'd still have to take the joint over to facilitate the new regime.

Why in the world do newspapers post this stuff? I know it could be disinfo, but why not just be quiet about it?
