Fire in San Deigo Oil plant (or refinery) recycling plant [AM edit] per Fox news ... breaking.

I really don't think that Al Qaeda figured out how to infiltrate an over-the-hill rock band to torch a third-rate roadhouse. But the number of industrial fires today is interesting - but, like the shark attack stories of a couple of summers ago, it might simply be a normal number of events that are suddenly getting media attention and therefore get noticed for a change.

As far as the nightclub is concerned, the pyros were straight up in a low-ceilinged room, STRAIGHT UP towards and licking that ceiling. End of story. The pyros were cause of fire.

Remember the so-called "Summer of the Shark" a couple of years ago? Turns out the total number of shark attacks around the world that year was actually slightly below the average - but since the media was all over the story, it seemed like every beach had sharks lined up like shoppers at a deli counter. We'd really need to see how many industrial incidents like this are normal for a given day, and then average it out over a month to see if this is an aberration.
