There's already about
four different versions of "Army of Darkness" on DVD already, and there's going to be a super-mega-happy-funtime edition coming out in a few months.
Also, in case you or others don't know, that's the last movie in a trilogy. The first two being "Evil Dead" and "Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn", respectively.

RE: Back to the Future trilogy
Universal royally screwed up the framing on BTTF II and III in the DVD set they released last year. They'll be releasing fixed discs in March. Look for a little "V2" in the bar-code area.

I rented the Ten Year Anniversary edition of "Reservoir Dogs" from Netflix last week. It was only the second or third time I've seen the film (and first time in OAR), but the sound and picture were cleaned up ALOT from what I remember. I love cops & robbers/gangsters storylines, and I thought this was a great flick in that genre. The disc also has some different takes of the "Stuck in the Middle with You" scene where the ear is shown straight on. It looks terribly fake, and I think Tarantino made a good decision by having the viewer just imagine what was going on on the other side of the cops head instead of showing it directly.
BTW, the movie got its name because when, as a video store clerk, he suggested "Au revoir les enfants" to a customer, the customer replied "I don't want no Reservoir Dogs!"

Well, it's kind of useless to post a list of fave movies to a thread that's 500 posts long, but since I'm here:
* Apocalypse Now
* Brazil
* Raiders of the Lost Ark
* The Mission
* Empire Strikes Back
Movies that folks have listed that I really need to watch:
* Dr. Zhivago
* Dr. Strangelove

All 3 Back to the Futures (especially Part II) rank high on my list. I also enjoyed The Flintstones with John Goodman (too bad Rosie O' was in it as Betty and Spielberg was behind it).

Oh pooh on all of them. There is only one greatest movie ever made and that is Casablanca.No, no, no, no, no... though it makes the top 5.
BEST of all time::: SOUND OF MUSIC ... with runner up to Gone With the Wind. (I can't believe it took over 200 posts before anyone thought of it.)
Best War (my opinion: several other good 'uns) ::: THE LONGEST DAY.
Tough to pick the one to finish the top 5, as it would be to limit to exactly 10 or 20,. etc... but If pressed I would say "It's a Wonderful Life", and be upset at leaving out so many others.

I would go to see a movie in which Jane Fonda, Alec Baldwin,Susan Saradon,Barbra Streisand,Kevin Costner,Michael Moore,Martin Sheen,Robert Redford,Julia Roberts,Cher, Ed Asner and Clooney die in the end.
They would be in an airplane blown up by terrorists.
I cannot picture any of them in real life saying . "Let's Roll!"

Mad Mad world is one of the best funny movies, along with "the in laws", is another funny one. However, if we are talking about good serious movies, with spectacular scenes, I would say Dr. Zivago (about the Russian revolution), and Indochine about Vietnam?
