Hollywood Fundraiser Rob 'Meathead' Reiner Endorses Anti War 2004 Presidential Cadidate Howard Dean
National Journal/Hotline ^ | February 20, 2003 | Chuck Todd

Posted on 02/20/2003 9:37:01 AM PST by ewing

Ex-Vermont Governor Howard Dean's staunch anti war position has earned him an early boost in Holywood fundraising in the form of an endorsement of director/actor Rob Reiner. (Sleepless in Seattle, All in the Family)

Reiner, who will be Former Governor Dean's 2004 California Presidential Democratic Primary Party co-chair said 'Dean is the only major Democratic candidate speaking out against going to war without the support of the United Nations.'

'My urgency to support him right now is to give him as big a forum as possible so that his vews can be heard.'

'It is a very dangerous time right now,' Reiner's nod will be announced today in an appearance with Dean at the Los Angeles Childrens International Institute.

As a famous philosopher once said: " I think, therefore....
I'm not Rob Reiner."

But, Dean's Civil Union laws will NOT play well in the Heartland. Sure the media and liberals like it, but this issue will hurt in the general.

Well, If I lived in Michigan and my Governor was a Canadian, I'd be shell-shocked too.

Don't worry, the rest of America won't let Bush down.

At least we kept the house, senate, and took the other statewide offices(AG and Sec of State). so Jenny can't get anything done.

Watch Howard Dean. This war may make him the frontrunner with Dim party activists.

Yeah, but his friendliness to gun ownership will play to Reagan Democrats who are sick of their party on the issue of firearms. The two issues might cancel each other in Dim primaries. And I'm not sure that the civil union issue will hurt him much even in the Bible Belt primaries as the only Dims voting in those primaries are already pretty radical since they are in overwhelmingly conservative states. After all, Dean isn't going to get the electoral votes of Wyoming or other Republican strongholds anyway. Currently, it's about winning primaries, not a general election.
