On Saturday, February 22, the Lightning will sponsor a pro-America rally at the Alamo, 1PM.
It is NOT a pro or anti war rally.
Nobody sane would relish a war. It is a nasty business. But sometimes it is necessary to avoid a greater evil.
That decision will come in due course.
We think it important simply to tell our troops and our President that we will support them, whatever road unfolds in front of us.
That message appears to be lost in the flurry of anti-American demonstrations that are so prominently displayed in the media.
If you would like to join us, please bring your own signs, or simply a US flag. We will be signing a letter of support, which will be sent to the White House, and posted for our troops.

I would love to come down to San Antonio for the rally, but will I encounter any Texas Freeper Southern Hospitality???? I have a place to stay, but would enjoy some Freeper Fellowship if I come down AND a Mandatory stop at "Taco Cabana" which we do not have in Chicago.

Is this the Glen Beck Rally? I saw that post recently, That is the rally I really want to attend. On March 1st 2003.

Taco Cabana is turista junk. There is a place a few blocks from the amphitheater called Mi Tierra. You'll never go back to Taco Crapana. I plan on being there.

First order of business: Bump and Ping.
ChicagoLady: How da weather up there? I used to live there, but I grew tired of snow, liberal politicians, and state income taxes. The Glenn Beck rally is the following Saturday.
BushDude2000: I will drive out to San Antonio for the rally on Saturday 22 Feb. I will remain in Houston for the March 1st rally as we also have one here. Anybody from Houston wants to go, let me know ASAP (offer regarding not charging for gas still stands). Do you have a sound permit? I have bullhorn ready (goes well with big Yankee bass mouth). Will see about the big sign.

I can't make the rally this weekend. My church has something planned for my grandson Sunday and I can't get back in time. I plan to fly the flag, and put out some red/white/and blue ribbons at home and my boss is thinking about letting me do the same thing at work. Do you guys have any other suggestions for things that I might be able to do here, locally? CD

There is a place a few blocks from the amphitheater called Mi Tierra. Mi Tierra has gone down the tubes. I used to love the place, but when I moved back to the hill country recently, I took my family there and thought that it was high-class dog food. That's right, dog food. If you like lots of grease and grissle, then you will love Mi Tierra (spanish for 'My Land').
If you still want to go to Mi Tierras, it is located in "Market Square", or more popularly called "El Mercado", which is in semi-walking distance from the Riverwalk or the Alamo.
In contrast, Taco Cabana is consistent at least. Someone would have to pay me to go back to Mi Tierra.
