Mass deportation of Muslim illegal aliens ruled out

The Bush administration has rejected the prospect of mass deportations of Muslim illegal aliens.

The administration plans to relay this message to American Muslim leaders amid the current nationwide alert for an Al Qaida attack. Hundreds of Muslims have been detained as illegal aliens as part of a crackdown by federal law enforcement authorities, Middle East Newsline reported.

On Tuesday, FBI Director Robert Mueller will meet American Muslim leaders to discuss federal measures against Al Qaida threats. Muslim groups have filed a class action suit against the government, charging that the Immigration and Naturalization Service has arrested Muslims illegally.

Muslim groups said the millions of Muslims in the United States have been the target of a backlash since the Al Qaida suicide attacks on New York and Washington in September 2001. They said at least 15 Muslims and a Sikh have been killed in attacks around the country.

Officials said Mueller plans to discuss the attacks on Muslims as well as policy toward illegal aliens. They said this will include a law passed over the last year that requires citizens from many Arab and Islamic nations to register with the INS. The procedure also includes photographing and fingerprinting.

Muslim groups have expressed concern that the law will result in the detention and deportation of hundreds of thousands of Arab and Islamic immigrants who arrived illegally or whose visas have expired. The Alliance of Iranian Americans, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Council on American Islamic Relations, and the National Council of Pakistani Americans have asked a federal court to issue an injunction to prevent the prospect of mass arrests.

But officials said the administration plans to reassure Muslim groups that special procedures enacted over the last year will be limited to those immigrants regarded as security threats.

I sure as heck won't support anyone who supports h1b. What the heck is wrong with the Republicans?

I went to a 7-11 today. the two clerks were Indian. I happen to know that in this city the 7-11 corporation has hired 2 h1b's to be managers. I bet they're working as store clerks. Where I live they've hired carpenters, masons, plasterers, all kinds of servants, horse care people, marketing people, finance people and of course lots of programmers and engineers through h1b.

You go vote for the US Chamber of Commerce Republicans if you want. But the big corps represented by the US CofC provide fewer and fewer jobs every year for americans. That trend's been ongoing since 1960 believe it or not.

When you vote Republican you're voting for people who will stab our nation's economic interests in the back. The REpublicans actually think that the desires of fortune 500 managers are more important than the actual interests of the american citizens.

Government REFUSES to carry out Rule Of Law. This is the problem. And they should deport en masse ALL ILLEGAL aliens. They don't want to deport mexicans, so they can't consider muslims. Can you spell WRONG? I knew that you could.

Man, I am telling you, your post has a lot of truth to it.

I starting to think these freaking companies are really pulling the strings. These so called American companies no longer have an ounce of allegiance to America or it's citizens...... They have proved this!

Please, I am serious about this, explain why we should re-elect Bush instead of a third party person or even, yes, a Democrat.

So that he can continue with the open border policy or so he can continue to appease the illegal Muslims in the US by promising there will be no mass deportation? Or perhaps it is his support of the malfeasantUN giving the Iraqi's 48 hours notice before a U-2 flight? What about the rising debt limit. Isn't 6.4 trillion enough? or Mantella's plan for arming our pilots two years after 911?

Is this what you call following his Oath of Office? Are you pleased with the Patriot Act, I'm not. He is clearly for globalization and anyone who is not would be a much better choice in my book. Sorry, but I am not a Bush supporter even though I did vote for him last time around. 2004 will be difficult but I won't support Bush.

And don't forget to add to your list that GWB actually wants to give ILLEGAL Mexicans U.S. Social Security benefits, which will start doling at $1 billion a year if this insane proposal actually goes through.

One of my favorite scenes in "Wall Street" is when Charlie Sheen as Bud Fox and his father (Martin Sheen, whom I loathe politically) are riding down the elevator together in Bud's apt. building, after their meeting with slimy Gordon Gekko, who falsely promises to guarantee the union workers job security if they support him in his buy-out of Blue-Star Airlines. Knowing full well Gekko's duplicity, Bud's father warns Bud, "I don't go to sleep with no whore and I don't wake up with one. I don't know how you do it."

Death, that is why many of us will NOT pull the lever again for GWB -- he is selling us out down the river and putting illegals first in every way in this country, over and above honest tax-paying U.S. citizens. That is why many of us are writing in Tancredo, regardless of the consequences. We don't want a President Hitlery any more than you do, but we will not sit back, either, and tacitly nod and wink at these injustices and corrupt acts, like some sort of a Bushbot bobblehead doll. As a wise Freeper once said on one of these threads, GWB is the kind of leader "who pees on your head and tells you it's raining."

A lot of your rant in blaming bush is his administration, and I think he should clean out the Clintonistas and fire anyone not doing their job. I agree that the "Islam is a Religion of Peace" stuff gets my gall too, however, we have been through this with Clintoon when Perot was the 3rd party candidate. This isn't a viable solution, it only gives the DemoRats a free ride elected without a true majority. Address the problems to the individual cabinet heads, you know what they read mail. Voting for any Rat isn't going to help with any of the problem you have described, only add to them.

I'll take a look over there once in a while as well, and like you, cannot believe that these so-called conservatives can act like such silly schoolgirl fools. I cannot even sit through an entire thread, it's so unbelievable. Every time they label us as "negative", they remind me of the NOW harpies who ever-rabidly defended their horndog prez Billy Jeff, and his enabling female co-president.

"Ah yes... whine about lost freedom and in the mean time kick people out on the basis of their religion."

Reread, please. Nowhere in my post did I use the term religion or apply that term to any people.

I feel ILLegal IS ilLEGAL and since you come off as a muslim religion advocate or defender I suggest that you revisit the fact that the inordinate number of recent illegal aliens from nations which will shortly be shedding the blood of CITIZENS of THIS nation presents a stunning picture of something very wrong.

Since the law means nothing to you, and YOUR statement evidences a lack of value of the freedoms and liberties lost, neither must the Constitution mean anything to you.
You may, therefore, disagree all you wish--your opinion is of no moment so far as I am concerned.

That trend's been ongoing since 1960 believe it or not.

There's been a slide for years. However, look for the tide to turn - but it won't turn fast enough that everyone's most sore spot is gone in a few months. Bush has actually turned a lot around up until now, and I'm expecting to see more.

Geez, folks have been screaming under Clinton and when his entenched minions aren't gone in a blue flash as soon as Bush is in the door they want the same idiocy back again? Are you nuts?

Of course, if what you want is "libertarianism" a la the incoherent screams on "LibertyForum", you are nuts :)).

Actually, their "religion" qualifies as a dangerous cult, a terrorist organization, organized crime and an insult. They should be in jail, not out.

If he is the Chief Law Enforcment Officer in the land and refuses to enforce the laws he took an oath to then I have no use for this little pissant.

Awww now.... It's all good:    the missle launchers all set down there in DC.     Feel safe now, ya hear?
The Pentagon has deployed air defense missiles around Washington as the CIA warned yesterday that Osama bin Laden's latest audio message could presage a major attack.         Anti-aircraft missiles deployed to bases, around D.C.
Eye on skies: Avenger battery - which can fire eight Stinger missiles - is parked in Washington, one of several batteries positioned around capital on alert for any airborne threat.

But of course all the above logic will be lost on the one-note wonder crowd. Its so much easier to cry "Free Barabas" over and over.

Isn't their cry, "Seal the Boarders!"?

So let me get this straight: We can have the National Guard armed and standing watch in the NYC subway system, but we can't deport ILLEGAL aliens from terrorist-sponsoring nations? This is an outrage!
