Mass deportation of Muslim illegal aliens ruled out

The Bush administration has rejected the prospect of mass deportations of Muslim illegal aliens.

The administration plans to relay this message to American Muslim leaders amid the current nationwide alert for an Al Qaida attack. Hundreds of Muslims have been detained as illegal aliens as part of a crackdown by federal law enforcement authorities, Middle East Newsline reported.

On Tuesday, FBI Director Robert Mueller will meet American Muslim leaders to discuss federal measures against Al Qaida threats. Muslim groups have filed a class action suit against the government, charging that the Immigration and Naturalization Service has arrested Muslims illegally.

Muslim groups said the millions of Muslims in the United States have been the target of a backlash since the Al Qaida suicide attacks on New York and Washington in September 2001. They said at least 15 Muslims and a Sikh have been killed in attacks around the country.

Officials said Mueller plans to discuss the attacks on Muslims as well as policy toward illegal aliens. They said this will include a law passed over the last year that requires citizens from many Arab and Islamic nations to register with the INS. The procedure also includes photographing and fingerprinting.

Muslim groups have expressed concern that the law will result in the detention and deportation of hundreds of thousands of Arab and Islamic immigrants who arrived illegally or whose visas have expired. The Alliance of Iranian Americans, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Council on American Islamic Relations, and the National Council of Pakistani Americans have asked a federal court to issue an injunction to prevent the prospect of mass arrests.

But officials said the administration plans to reassure Muslim groups that special procedures enacted over the last year will be limited to those immigrants regarded as security threats.

Ah yes... whine about lost freedom and in the mean time kick people out on the basis of their religion.

Are you referring to the ILLEGAL ALIEN Muslims?

I really think it's time for Bush to be extradited to...lets say, Mexico.

GWB just LOVES selective law enforcement. Just look at the border situation.

I'm not so sure that this is a bad thing yet. The last line, "But officials said the administration plans to reassure Muslim groups that special procedures enacted over the last year will be limited to those immigrants regarded as security threats" seems to indicate that those in custody are security threats.

If that's true, it makes more sense for us to hold them and squeeze them for information than deliver them en masse to a foreign country where they could cause us damage. I, for one, would rather see a trickle effect of deportation than one blanket deportation -- practically handing the Muslims a small army.

This is from an obscure source. My opinion is nothing is definite,. Main factor is it's bad to deport these bums right as we're getting ready to pounce on Iraq. Four months from now, when the dust settles they should get the heave ho. They are illegal aliens ..... out with their A$$es

So when are we going to see this posted on "A Day in the Life of GWB" so the Bush-bots can giggle and fawn over their idol's latest treasonous and undermining act against American citizens? Oh, I forgot, Dubya's new suit and Laura's shades of lipstick and nail polish are more important....plus I think Barney and Spot were seen playing with a new chew-toy on the White House lawn today...

Oh, have we wised up and started quietly taking them out back and shooting them?

It's hard to take the war on terrorism serious when we let potential terrorists wonder through our country illegally. At the same time homeland security is telling us to buy duct tape and plastic.

Does it seem we're waiting for another shoe to drop before we invade Iraq. We couldn't get UN approval so we're just killing time until somethig else happens. Then we'll have a good reason?

Personally, I think the people running the war on terrorism don't "get it".

I like Bush but as far as I am concerned if they are illegal they should go.. this is BS... Get rid of those illegals!!!!

well, friend you don't make any sense here. George Bush supports illegal immigration and all types of immigration 100%. He has said in public that his idea of an immigration policy is to match up willing employers with willing employees. Bush can, at any time, merely instruct the bureaucracy to have their computers check the existing payroll information reported to the government each month from businesses all over the country to see who is getting paychecks that does not have a legal social security number and then instruct those employers that they've got illegals on their payroll and must correct the situation. In that case many illegals would have to go home right away and more importantly new illegals wouldn't come here. Bush simply won't do this, yet he can do it even without congress taking any action. So, he supports and protects illegal immigration. So, it makes no sense for you to say you like Bush, but you're opposed to illegal immigration also.

I used to be the biggest strongest supporter of the Republicans there was. Now I'm opposed to them completely. If you support illegal immigration, you support bringing in another half million people a year through either H visas or L visas, you support high levels of legal immigration, if you support run-away government spending, if you support stifling regulations of business, if you support suicidal trade policies, if you support the destruction of the social security and medicaire programs, then you support the Republicans 100% because all of these things I've mentioned are exactly what the Republicans stand for. Republican policies mean constant downward movement over time in the real pay that americans receive for work in our economy. They mean we won't be able to afford decent schools, but we're still going to spend incredibly lavishly on those education bureaucrats whom we so strongly disapprove of. Republican policies mean deterioration and destruction of our society. The type of politics that reagan stood for are completely out of sync with the republican party of today.

Ralph Nader wants to pull the US out of the World Trade Organization. Therefore, Ralph Nader stands head and shoulders above all the Republicans as a politician. Ted Kennedy voted against H1b in 1998 and not one single republican senator joined him.

Republicans are idiots, plain and simple.

I agree the illuison is wearing thin even amongst the boobs locked in front of the stupidvision. If the enemy decides suicide attacks on American soil are worth his while and guarantees a trip to paradise to rape young girls we are in trouble. If this happens our government elite bound by political correctness will institute "sensitive" martial law where the law abiding citizens are stripped of rights and the "oppressed" pets of the Left are catered to exclusively sort of like Affirmative Action for Islamicists.

"The Bush administration" isn't the same as Bush - in fact it contains more old clintoonies than you can shake a stick at. Let's see what develops.

That is such a cop-out. If we're really at war like GWB says we are, then this issue is a no-brainer. This is more important than Iraq. If being politically correct is more important than our nations security, than GWB is less of a man than I thought he was...and there's no excuse now...we have the majority inthe House and the Senate. Remember, 9/11 ultimately happened because of our lax non-enforcement of immigration laws/visa policies. You BushBots just don't get that if we ARE at war, blindly supporting the president and is NOT what should be priority...fully supporting whats good for America and the security of Americans; while holding our leaders accountable to do just that should be priority #1...and when the leader of the nation isn't doing that, you dont just pretend the issue isnt there and blacklist all the critics. You speak out...and demand it. America wouldn't be America if we couldn't do that.

/rant off

In other news, the chickens will meet with the leaders of the foxes to discuss chicken coop security procedures.

I love Bush .... BUT ... this P.C. crap has got to stop.

Our government OWES us to uphold the law and they're NOT.

Illegal Muslims should be deported or rounded up and put into a camp.
