KALIFORNIA KOLLEGE KAMPUS KOOKS VS. DAVID HOROWITZ AND FREE REPUBLIC

Posted on 02/18/2003 3:04:58 PM PST by Cinnamon Girl

Noon time rally at University of California Long Beach. David Horowitz, invited by the College Republicans, spoke about why we should support our president and our troops.

On a grassy knoll at the rear of the crowd, the angry and the ignorant gathered with drums and signs that read: "BUSH IS STUPID," "BUSH IS RETARDED," "BU-- SH--!" "NO BLOOD FOR OIL," ETC. They chanted "Bull sh--!" and "Racist" (which I guess applies to any Republican or person who supports President Bush) while David Horowitz talked about human rights atrocities in the Sudan, Iraq, North Korea, and asked why the "No War" nuts weren't upset about any of that.

In case anyone reading this didn't get the memo, these "anti-war" protesters are really ANTI-BUSH. (please read their signs when BobJ posts them tonight.) And they aren't interested in any honest debate. They shouted over David Horowitz and Shawn Steel, who spoke afterward.

Part two of the memo is that the protesters are ANTI-AMERICA. They booed when Horowitz said that, but one girl was holding an upside down American flag with industry symbols in place of the stars. And another American flag sign read "the people are sheep" and "land of the pigs."

One old guy was walking around with a sign advertising the communist radio station Pacifica and explaining to anyone who would listen that Bush was appointed by the Supreme Court.

P.S. Rather than getting busy doing something about gangs and the school system, the LA City Council is discussing their own anti-war declaration.

This Month's Featured Speaker:
Candidate for Los Angeles City Council
Rod Wright

The Majority of the Members of the Los Angeles City Council have proven to be extremely antagonistic toward those of us who value our God-Given rights as enumerated in the Constitution of the United States in general, and the Second Amendment in particular.

Rod Wright is a member of the political party which generally continues to attempt to strip away the ability of law-abiding citizens to purchase, possess and use firearms, HOWEVER, Mr. Wright professes to be PRO-GUN and the National Rifle Association has chosen to support his candidacy for the Los Angeles City Council.

Please come to ATF Night this Thursday to hear directly from Rod Wright where he stands on the Second Amendment, Gun-Registration, the proposal to ban the purchase and possession of .50 Caliber rifles and ammunition, the issuance of Concealed Carry Permits, etc., etc...

Ted Hayes is planning with RonDog and others a major media attention getting event to highlight those celebs who "appear" to be anti-American, and give them the opportunity to get their minds right and join our March Against Terrorism. In addition, Ted and company will publicly thank those celebs who have been pro-American, and invite them to join us in marching against terrorism. The idea is to do this every year at the Academy Awards ceremony until we have no celebs to highlight who "appear" to be anti-American. What do you think?

It's kind of tricky, because publicly listing people who are "anti-American" will look like the blacklisting Hollywood still refers to any time people say they should shut up.

I would like to be at the Oscars with signs or something that illustrates how silly the hollywood people are for acting like they have more information than Colin Powell or Rummy.

Good point...however...the liberals in Hollywood have for years blacklisted conservatives in Hollywood for being conservative. We're not saying they can't be anti-American or can't speak out anti-American rhetoric, we just want people to know that they "appear" to be anti-American but we're hoping we're wrong. We'll be asking them to clarify their position. We won't be trying to stop them from working...which would be blacklisting. What do you think?

I know these rallies from my own college days. One thing I've learned is that probably a quarter of them are the old standbyes--aging hippies of all generations who just never get it and another 1/4 are reactionaries who will be contrarian always and are usually anarchists who thrive on destruction since they are usually pretty self-destructive. Some of these may even grow out of the actual anarchist viewpoint but are usually contentious a good portion of the time and make lousy spouses, friends, etc. Finally the other 1/2 are usually sheep. This is the cool thing right now and most of them grow up and a very small handful move on to become an aging hippie. Ask this half(all college age in this group) in about 15 years what they think and they will likely be conservatives or at least middle of the road and enjoying all the spoils of being an American. Like coloring your hair blue or wearing your sneakers without laces, being anti-war and anti-parental figure(aka Bush/Cheney, etc) is just a passing phase. This is the group that plumps the numbers of protestors up while they go through their temporary insanity.

Good point, I agree. It points to how generally contentious the people who are "anti-war" are. They would jump in league with Satan himself as long as Satan were anti-Bush(and it seems they have). They are not about doing what is right.

Ask RonDog to put you on his list. There's a rally planned for the LA Marathon and one for the Oscars.

Moose, I think it's deeper than that. Many of the anti-war types are self-destructive at their core and I think they wish to spread that hate and destruction around. I don't think they say this consiously but their every action and reaction to that which is good shows their nature and their hatred of the average happy person out there.

They're not to smart either - CSPAN did a show from a college in Colorado this morning (I was in my car listening and couldn't call in). One of the Anti-Bush kids remarked, she was against the war because terrorists don't attack military targets and we shouldn't either.

I wanted to ask her what she thought the Pentagon was ....
