Friends:
Thanks to you, weve made history with the Recall Gray Davis campaign! In one week we have signed up tens of thousands of Californians to volunteer, contribute or both at the official Recall Gray Davis campaign website:
http:// www.RecallGrayDavis.com
The pundits in the media first scoffed at our efforts. They greatly offended me with the victims mentality of you get what you deserve for having narrowly re-elected Gray Davis. This is a poor excuse to forgive the lies and deception Gray Davis used to hide the truth from voters regarding the seriousness of our states budget crisis in order to win re-election.
Now we can show them that the people of California will not accept victims status at the hands of Gray Davis deceit and corruption. Its time to make history!
On Saturday, February 22nd, we will be holding a massive rally in favor of the recall of Governor Gray Davis on the north steps (L Street side) of the California State Capitol building in Sacramento.
It is important if this recall effort is to grow and spread for us to demonstrate to Californians of every political party that they are not alone in their feelings of resentment and sense of betrayal as a result of Gray Davis corruption and mismanagement.
A partial list of speakers already confirmed includes:
To RSVP for this rally or offer assistance on making this day an unprecedented success please email us at: Rally@RecallGrayDavis.com
Sincerely,
Howard Kaloogian
Chairman, Recall Gray Davis Committee http:// www.RecallGrayDavis.com
Now is your time to assist in dumping our incompetent governor! See you @ the rally!
Seems to me the time for this was last November!
When pigs fly and this effort is successful, will California have Cruz Bustamante as governor until a special election can be held?
Couldn't agree with you more...where were all these people when Bill Simon needed their support a mere few months ago?
Thank God for my home state of Texas, where the Democratic 'Dream Team' went down in flames on Election Day. Although our state's budget is projected to run a deficit, OUR governor has flatly stated, 'no new taxes'.
Of course, if he keeps that up, more and more East & Left Coasters will emigrate here. That's ok, they'll be 'naturalized' within mere months!
Snidely
LOL! I've heard Texas does that to a person.
Howard Kaloogian will be making the following Media Appearances to promote the rally:
KOGO - Roger Hedgecock - TODAY
KSFO with Melanie on Wednesday, at 8:00 a.m.
KABC with Al Rantel on Friday, at 9:00 p.m.
.
He was on KCBC in Stockton on Sunday I believe (or was it Saturday) and I know that KTKZ Sacramento is going to report on the rally and broadcast live from it.
Hopefully some more outlets will help promote the event! We need to show the peace protestors that they are not the only ones who can build a crowd!
No. The election of a new governor will take place on the same ballot as the recall.
I offered my good luck. Can you tell me when there was a successful recall effort at this level? I can't remember a governor being ousted 3.5 months after election by recall efforts.
I'd sign the petition too, if I lived in California. I'm still skeptical though. By the way, who will be the replacement candidate, candidates?
The timing depends on a number of factors. Once the intent to recall petition has been submitted to the Secretary of State, we have 160 days to collect 897,156 valid signatures, which represents 12% of the number of voters who turned out to vote for governor during the last gubernatorial election.
As for replacements, we shall see hopefully!
That can be done even without paid signature gatherers if you're series.
Our Howard Garvis, Tim Eyman turned in close to 750,000 signatures for our popular $30.00 car tab initiative. There has to be interest in all camps or... Good luck.
