What Kitchin said speaks volumes. Having worked for the Borg...errr.....Clear Channel, they won't touch ANYTHING unless it's going to fill their bankaccounts with ad revenue.

.......How do you make a small fortune? In this case, start with a large fortune and start a liberal radio network......harharharharharharhar...snort.

Hi Paul. I was listening to Sean Hannity this past hour and a caller phoned in and spoke to the CEO of this radio station. The caller said something to the tune of "Al Franken has a voice for tv and a face for radio, so you've got plenty to fix." Strange, but the caller sounded alot like Mark Levin.

What is truly scary is the people who think that the mainstream media isn't liberal enough! When liberals accuse the media of a conservative bias, they say so for one of two reasons. The first is a lame attempt to defeat a harmful fact by simply contradicting it with the opposite of the truth, a kindergarden-like accusation ("You hit me! No! You hit me!).
The second reason is the view that the media, as instruments of the free market, are "conservative" because they are not socialist institutions, like The People's Daily of North Korea. The profit-seeking media condemning profit-seeking is one of those bizarre disconnects conservatives have learned about liberalism. And again, it is the essence of liberalism: the inability to relate principles, personal behavior, and political views.
I remember with utter clarity, how William F Buckley -- the lonely public voice of conservatism in the 60's -- was regarded by liberals as a nut case and extremist. Any human being ought to have been able to see that Buckley was a gracious, gentle, principled, courageous man of remarkable equanimity. But liberals could not see that, so essential was their childish confusion between their politics and their principles.
Radio is personal and intimate. Radio does not tolerate phoniness and absurd artifice, as so many of the other media do. (Limbaugh and Stern ... strange bedfellows, but cultural twins.) Liberalism does not need an attitude adjustment ... it needs an attitudectomy ... but then it would not be liberalism.

"It's very hard to define liberalism, unlike how easy it is to define conservatism." It's hard to know what to think when you can't think.
It won't get past "I feel that...."

Al Franken and his One-Man Mobile Uplink?
Will he survive THAT plight?

They just don't get it-
As long as you're trying to create 'a liberl Rush Limbaugh' you're going to fail. Rush's charisma and ability to entertain can't just be copycatted by some lame comedian who's barely on the radar. The only way a liberal talk show will work is if they get someone who, like Rush, understands that he's doing a radio show to entertain people and won't just sit there and spew out liberal propaganda.

I'm really looking forward to this. 14 hours per day of ad hominem attacks, stiffled conservative ideas not allowed and discussions on hydrogen automobiles.
The first day should be a good one. Conservatives will be blamed for killing babies in Iraq by pro choice advocates,(when the US is trying to free a people from an evil dictator).
I think Hannity wanted to call it Hillary's Elitist Liberal Losers or HELL, but I expect it will be known as the Hypocracy radio network.

The difference between liberals and conservatives is that when no one else is listening liberals talk about "the masses" and conservatives talk about "people."

Well, it's final: Alan Colmes of the famed duo Hannity & Colmes will have a nationally syndicated radio talk show starting next week. He'll be carried here in San Diego on KFMB-AM 760 on the radio dial from 7:00pm to 11:00pm weeknights. The only problem is that was Laura Ingraham's slot. I guess they'll move her. Also KFMB will welcome Michael Savage in the near future. Ah, it's good living here in the San Diego radio market: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham, Rick Roberts, soon to be Michael Savage -- Paradise!

Why does Clear Channel suck? Certainly not because you think it's a bad idea to make money?
To: Paul Atreides
I do not believe that any liberal talk radio, except for tax supported NPR, will ever make it. People simply don't want to hear it.
I do want to say though, that Al Franken used to crack Me up on SNL with his "Stuart Smalley" character. At least He has a sense of humor about some of the ridiculous mannerisms of liberals.
However, I have heard him, only lately, spout off his anti-American views, and his potential talk show, and career in general, is toast.
He will soon join the ranks of sean penn, rosie odonell, alec baldwin etc.

Also KFMB will welcome Michael Savage in the near future. ...soon to be Michael SavageMichael Savage has been on the radio in San Diego for quite some time at KSDO 1130. You can hear him during the 6:00 pm hour live Mon - Fri. From 7:00 to 9:00 KSDO airs his show on tape delay. You can hear him live on KPLS 830 out of Orange County from 4:00 - 7:00 pm which I've picked up as far south as I-15 and Aero Drive.
