It's hard to talk with a liberal talk show host. Since they are always right, anyone who disagrees with them must be wrong. That doesn't make for interesting radio.

There are a couple of hosts here in the New York/New Jersey area who have been worth a listen. Sam Greenfield was excellent, Lynne Samuels had her own ideas about things, Richard Bey was OK but he's sliding downhill fast.

Incidentally, while Sean Hannity was excellent, he's been going downhill lately. He's strident, shouting over his callers if they don't agree with him. There are too many commercials and cross promotion.

I like Jay Severin (sp?). His show on 96.9 is one of the reasons I enjoy trips to the Boston area. Wish they'd syndicate him.

It's worse than that. Since their position is so self-evidently right, anyone who opposes it is not only wrong, he is INSANE.

About your comment concerning the radio host Lynne Samuels: She has a certain nutty baglady charm. But she would never appeal to more than a niche market.

You're right abt Hannity, I am sad to say, fame got to him. As for Richard Bey, he wa great right after 9/11, but somebody got him the Koolaid. Lately, he's just served to make me madder and madder. He called in this morning to extoll the protesters on Sat...I can't even begin to say ugly things about those stalinist aplologists...

"Cutie Pie" Hannity is just not as intelligent, bless his heart, as someone like Rush. Rush has down days where you're pulling for him to say that prefect retort to a caller, and somedays he just gets flustered. But some days when he's on a roll Rush just says what you're thinking before you can blurt it out at the radio...hence "dittoes."

But Hannity rarely does that. It's like he's not processing what the caller is saying and just waiting to interject his wrote point in over the caller.

There's one Rush substitute host that I can't remember that was pretty good, Mark or maybe Mike something.

That constant promotion of his night show annoys me. But what irks me even more is the constant listing of what is coming next. Just get to it,--- for goodness sakes!!!! Get to the reason people tune in -- a chance to speak and a chance to listen to current news.

As soon as Sean starts with his self-stuff, I switch over to O'Reilly.

Richard Bey was OK but he's sliding downhill fast.

Dick Bey's 10AM Saturday show has got to be the most annoying show on WABC, even more so than the Saturday night chronic pain infomercials and the "1-800-ASK-LESKO" ads. His innocuous comments are made worse by the fact that Bey actually "sings" his own theme songs based on a variety of show tunes.

As for Hannity, I never understood why so many people like this guy. He beats a dead horse into the ground with most of his "arguments" and is a lousy interviewer.

I hate to say this, but the only political talk show host I really like is Rush, unless he goes off on a Tiger Woods tangent. Michael Savage comes across as an angrier, conservative version of Randy Rhodes (arrogant leftist radio host from South Florida) and Bob Grant has slipped since he moved to Worst On Radio (WOR).
