...the tuner permanantly set to 610AM. A very expensive way to grasp for market.

Not necessarily. To pick up a strong AM station, all you literally need is a diode, crystal earphone, and ground.

So a box with diode, batt, speaker, volume-off switch, and "WIP-610" in "big friendly letters" was probably pretty cheap.

Come to think of it, even though its "our" money, the State Department was giving away shortwave radios in Cuba last year.

... Mario Cuomo...

He was on Donahue recently (with Franken and Bernie Goldberg). Claimed that SONY didn't know how to run syndicated shows as the reason for his failure.

Donahue continued the "bad SONY corporation" beat last week with Dennis Miller.

Bey certainly can be annoying, Lesko is worse. My girlfriend can't stand the Mitsubishi guy, I've had enough Michael Jackson stories.

Agreed Rush is better than Hannity lately. Malzberg is OK but probably frustrated with his time with Bey.

Bachelor and Alexander can be good, they get some good guests who really get into X's and O's.

I tune into Grant rather than Hannity these days, generally.

Tom Maher has been pretty good since he started here.
