ALBANY - Activist and comedian Dick Gregory said yesterday he suspects CIA and FBI "thugs" had prior knowledge of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Gregory told the New York State Black and Puerto Rican Legislators annual conference that bits of evidence overlooked by most of the mainstream media show some people in power had knowledge of the attacks beforehand.
"You all sit around and really believe that some little snot-nosed punky Arabs could pull off something ... the Russians in their heyday ... didn't have the intelligence to come into the country and blow up a building like these Arabs did. There's something wrong," he said.
"Now they want to tell everybody this was by surprise."
In a wide-ranging, often humorous lecture, Gregory, 70, said he was offended by some news reports that accused him of being a conspiracy theorist.

"Often humorous"???
What a lie. That guy hasn't cracked a joke in decades.
"Mostly vitriolic, and sad, really" would be better.

Dick Gregory (Watermelon Man") is just like a number of black comedians (Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy) whose initial success was due to routines that basically ridiculed black people in front of whites. Then when their black brothers complained, they became angry and unfunny.

gee, I guess if this was a conservative, or anybody but a flaming socialist, this article would have been yanked or put into the backroom. Like the others.

Dick Gregory hasn't said anything funny in years. He needs to go back on his diet and blow away.

If Gregory had suggested it was FBI and CIA incompetence, I might agree with him.

the Russians in their heyday ... didn't have the intelligence to come into the country and blow up a building like these Arabs did. What an idiot. As if the Russians were sitting there plotting how to take us down one building at a time during the cold war. Only an idiot would think that the Russians would have blown up our buildings. He assumes that since there were never any buildings blown up by the Russians, that they merely weren't successful, and that they spent half a century just trying to get enough ability to blow up a high profile building. Idiot.

Yeah, there's somethign horribly wrong- your state of sanity.
Does this guy even realise that the Russians had enough nuclear hardware to kill every living thing on the planet? That Russia was planning for an all-out WAR, in which the fate of a single building, even the WTC, would be insignifigant? That the only 'intelligence' that the terrorists needed was a flight schedual and a map of New York city?
"Now they want to tell everybody this was by surprise."
Well if YOU knew about it beforehand why didn't you tell anybody?
"In a wide-ranging, often humorous lecture, Gregory, 70, said he was offended by some news reports that accused him of being a conspiracy theorist."
'Duh, who, me?'
Honestly, I cannot comprehend how a human being can say something that stupid. How do they do it? How does one completely bypass the brain and managed to get signals to go straight from your ass to your mouth?

Isn't that Idi Amini? No, I was referring to the nutball formerly known as Leroi Jones, the "Poet Laureate" of New Joisey.
