Worldwide support for the United States
February 15, 2003

Posted on 02/15/2003 2:49:27 PM PST by Indy Pendance

Billions of people worldwide are not joining in demonstrations against a possible US-led war against Iraq. Supporters for the war on terror have been spotted in every country in the world.

Massive counter-demonstrations have been ongoing since 9-11-01. A day after UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix issued an assessment of the UN's disarmament process in Iraq, many irrational humans across the globe donned outrageous costumes. One eyewitness reported he thought he was at Rio de Janeiro's Carnival.

The sheer number of supporters for the USA and her allies is mind-boggling. It is estimated that up to six billion persons either support the war effort or are indifferent. Reports have suggested up to a million fringe-freaks are anti-american, but for arguement sake, suppose that number is exagerated to five million. The percentage of anti-americans swells to a very insignificant percentage of 0.00083%.

In England, crowds have been seen gathering at a Rugby match where England trounced France, 25-17. Prince Harry was spotted showing his support for the US.

Thousands of Chinese affirmed the US's stance by participating in their annual Lantern Festival.

Meanwhile, in the USA, residents in Omaha, Nebraska battle the anti-americans by attacking mother nature. Thousands of people across the midwest braved bitter weather to shovel their driveways. So far, no deaths have been reported.

And down under, Australia show her support for the yankees by attend a the ICC Cricket World Cup match held is South Africa. Way to go mates.

Along with France, Germany has been one of the biggest appeasers of the war with Iraq. But, it has been learned that the infamous George Clooney had other plans. Is it possible he is an American??????

Remember, we are fighting terrorists. Saddam is a terrorist with connections to the bombing of the World Trade Center. Approximately 3000 people lost their lives. Those that choose to appease these barbarians deserve to be scorned and ridiculed.

GOD BLESS THE USA

Please review your math, and post the correct percentage.

5,000,000/6,000,000,000 = 8.3e-4 = 0.00083 = 0.083%

Thanks, forgot to move the decimal when converting to percent.

I showed up to counter-protest the pro-Saddam-dictator and anti-Bush demonstration. I had a sign saying "Liberate Iraq".

If a pollster asked the question "would you favor liberating Iraq?" we might get 70% (Fox new had 67% support military action against Iraq to remove saddam from power).

And yet I saw more signs that were intellectually vacuous, or false/offensive (In Austin, TX, "bush is a terrorist", egads what BS). In fact, it shows how protests can degrade political debate by reducing things to cartoon level simplification. The whole protest was assinine and peurile in its attitude and claims.

so the point is the "antiwar" protest doesnt represent the people overall and odesnt represent logical views. that's the point.

Why was reply 8 removed? the question is a fair one, though 'loaded' Q. "Honestly, what kind of point are you trying to make?"

Peace advocates lead farcical parade , David Warren - Ottawa Citizen:

Today is peace march day. Around the world, and especially across Europe, perhaps millions will march in solidarity with Saddam Hussein; while the people of Iraq continue to live under one of this world's most murderous and vicious dictatorships, glumly anticipating American liberation, but fearing they'll be let down once again.

Chic exponents of abortion on demand will accuse President George W. Bush of wanting to kill Iraqi babies; socialist proponents of public theft will accuse him of trying to steal Iraqi oil; and people whose safety and freedom have been guaranteed by U.S. military protection all their lives, will chant that "Amerika" is a fascist country.

It is a scene of human depravity, worthy of description by the Hebrew prophets.

(Oh no!!! the dreaded Norwegian minister anti-war speech).

I have no doubt that the demonstrations in Europe were as large as they are claiming. I'm still totally indifferent as much of Europe is infected with extreme socialist and/or communist sympathies. Now you explain to me why we should not depose Hussein.

Please enlighten us here in the United States as to what policies of President Bush are wrong. Please enlighten us as to what we gain, and the world gains, from not removing Saddam Hussein from power. Please tell us what you know...so that we won't be attacked tomorrow with WMD developed by this evil empire. Please tell us what evidence you have that this country is not a danger to the US and to the world.

Welcome to Free Republic.

The Iraqi's are opressed. Any you are an enabler.

Europe has never learned. The United States consistantly bales Europe out of it's troubles. Remember Hitler? Or do you support his ideas? Remember Stalin? Or maybe you desire to live under communism rule? Europeans do not understand freedom. And you're right. The US should just get the hell out of Europe. Complete embargos. See how long freedom would remain in Europe. Better yet, why not have Saddam exiled to Europe and have him become your EU president?

Here are the sponsers of the last 'peace rally'. Read it carefully. But, you're probably a shill for communism.

Still don't believe the Iraqi's want freedom? Check out this letter to the Guardian in England from an Iraqi doctor

Iraqis To Protestors: "Not In Our Name"

Iraqi People To Protestors: "Not In Our Name!"

After your march, when you return to your cosy little house basking in a warm self-congratulatory glow at the thought of a job well done, perhaps you'd spare a minute or two to pen a letter to Dr Khalaf [see below] and explain to him why his fellow Iraqis should be left at the mercy of Saddam. I'm sure he'd appreciate it, he might even forward them to his relatives who are still in Iraq - I'm sure they'd be interested in your expert views.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/letters/story/0,3604,895397,00.html Dr B Khalaf

Friday February 14, 2003

The Guardian

I write this to protest against all those people who oppose the war against Saddam Hussein, or as they call it, the "war against Iraq". I am an Iraqi doctor, I worked in the Iraqi army for six years during Iraq-Iran war and four months during Gulf war. All my family still live in Iraq. I am an Arab Sunni, not Kurdish or Shia. I am an ordinary Iraqi not involved with the Iraqi opposition outside Iraq. I am so frustrated by the appalling views of most of the British people, media and politicians. I want to say to all these people who are against the possible war, that if you think by doing so you are serving the interests of Iraqi people or saving them, you are not. You are effectively saving Saddam. You are depriving the Iraqi people of probably their last real chance get rid of him and to get out of this dark era in their history. My family and almost all Iraqi families will feel hurt and anger when Saddam's media shows on the TV, with great happiness, parts of Saturday's demonstration in London. But where were you when thousands of Iraqi people were killed by Saddam's forces at the end of the Gulf war to crush the uprising? Only now when the war is to reach Saddam has everybody become so concerned about the human life in Iraq. Where were you while Saddam has been killing thousands of Iraqis since the early 70s? And where are you are now, given that every week he executes people through the "court of revolution", a summary secret court run by the secret security office. Most of its sentences are executions which Saddam himself signs. I could argue one by one against your reasons for opposing this war. But just ask yourselves why, out of about 500,000 Iraqis in Britain, you will not find even 1,000 of them participating tomorrow? Your anti-war campaign has become mass hysteria and you are no longer able to see things properly. Locum consultant neurologist, London
