He sure is talking slooooooow. At least he isn't reading the phone book yet. We will find the votes for cloture if we are patient and stick to our guns.

Welcome to the club!! I was going to the PGA golf

know whay America needs ? a damn good fist fight
on the senate floor....the cable replays with us owning radio would FINALLY let America see the wheat and it's chaff
To: crude77
If the republicans invoked this would it change the number of votes required to comfirm the nomination in the full senate? 60 votes are needed for cloture, which would stop the filibuster and allow them to vote on Estrada. Only 51 votes are needed to confirm.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Dennisn Miller should be our Ambassador to the UN.

The RATS are engaged in the politics of personal destruction in order to please a handful of very narrow special interest groups who provide a reliable supply of legal and illegal votes every other November. It's a strategy they perfected in the mid-90's on any number of issues ranging from the enviornment to medicare.
What's different today is their megaphone (Slick Willy) no longer occupies the White House and their message isn't reaching a large audience. What's also different is the current occupant of the White House has core beliefs and values, and is willing spend political capital to see his agenda for America enacted into law. What MAY be different is the GOP has a Senate Majority Leader who won't cave in to the RATS pathetic tactics.

He wants to set this aside and deal with other things?
I don't think so!

I'm glad he straightened that out....its the REPUBLICANS fault and they choose to pick this fight.
There is more pressing needs but those mean 'ole Republicans are blocking it all!
To: VRWC_minion
Daschle attempting to shift blame for fillibuster to R's. We should be working on life and death issues, not Estrada. Estrada should stop the stonewalling.

I just called Bill Nelson of Florida to tell him to let Daschle know that the people are not confused & that we want Estrada to be confirmed today. Enough is Enough.

GONG! Showing Clara Harris and recapping the verdict of guilty.
To: TaRaRaBoomDeAyGoreLostToday!
I've written Marc Racicot again that if the GOP doesn't defend itself appropriately and get the talking points out to all who appear on the talk shows, I will not support them financially. The Dems lie and get away with it time and again, with the help of the biased media, of course, but put a big GOP name in front of the cameras and force the media to cover it.

After my computer went out last night, I sat mesmerized at the absolutely glorious actions of Hatch and the Republicans! Then, watching a rerun of Donahue/Miller show, I was on a real high.
Where were all the senators running for president? Probably cowering in the cloak room or out fund raising.
