Your post is untrue drivel. The Democrats never made even an attempt to select nominees who would be approved by consensus. Their behavior now is simply bad faith. They will pay for it.

Dascle is putting himself up as the sacrificial lamb, as he's probably getting out of politics next election cycle.

1. The memoranda are not the property of Estrada, and he can't release them.
2. The release of the notes would violate client privilege, which is grounds for disbarment.
3. All 7 living former solicitor generals, INCLUDING 4 DEMOCRATS, support the administration's position on this.
4. Estrada worked for the Clinton administration as well. He may have personal views, but is apparently non-partisan, which I find an excellent qualification for a judge.
5. You may now leave, since you are WRONG on all counts.
To: MurryMom
Crawl back in your hole, MM. The fact remains that the democrats have blocked all of the appeals court nominations for their own idealogical reasons. Any judge who does not pass their litmus tests will not be confirmed.
' The role of the senate is advise and consent. They do not get to appoint the judiciary, the President does. The democrats are abusing their power, plain and simple.

You are so right!
Here in lies the problem.
Estrada happens to be a Hispanic conservative.
That is the only problem!!!

Feinstein has been speaking. She accuses the republicans of blocking clinton appointees, many of them minorities.
She now says they have a nominee about they know little.
She agrees Estrada is bright, and all dems agree, but that's not the "problem".

They are insisting that the White House respect the Senate's role in confirming judicial nominees. If they're so damn concerned about the Senate's "role," then why are they afraid of a vote by the full Senate?
The Dems are not in charge here. They are still sore at how the people spoke up and took the reins away from them.
Lady, go crawl back into your hole and come up with another lie to tell. But just get the hell outta here.

If Estrada was good enough for Bill Clinton's administration, I'm shocked that you're against him now.
The only thing a reasonable person can deduce it that you, along with your fellow weasels, are playing politics because it's all you have left.......you know your agenda, the agenda that was killing this country, is DEAD.

President Bush should get some of these wandering musings and make it into a clip that he can show out on the trail to the people. He should say, this is what the democrats are doing while I'm waiting for the money to protect America. Then show Byrd musing about his courtship, then Daschle, then Clinton, and one right after the other talking about nonesense. That'll get some action QUICK!
To: Howlin
Is this a "real" filibuster yet ?? Did they all go home last night ?? I want to see the Dems forced to keep a speaker up day and night -- maybe then the news media will stop ignoring the story ?
