One of the RAT speakers a while ago called for "protecting the rights of the most vulnerable," speaking of contradictions!
To: ken5050
dinner where Kate Michaelman said that she expects every Dem senator will filabuster I haven't seen that, but would love to see it in a spot.
To: justshe
I'm not giving up yet. Something has always come about for Bush in the 11th hour.
To: PhiKapMom
I liked your theory about WHY the 'Rats are pulling this filibuster. I remember reading something several years ago about the Clintons, that they created havoc and chaos wherever they went, and somehow it always ended up being in their favor. I think there are many reasons why: revenge (which was a main theme for the 2002 election for the Dems, they were supposed to get even with the Republicans for the 2000 election.) And Hillary! knows something too.
To: PhiKapMom
Finally, the Estrada filibuster will continue until the Democrats realize they are paying a political price for their obstructionism. The key message they need to receive is that the center-right is disgusted by their unprecedented blockade of a vote on a judicial nominee. That message is best sent via a contribution to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (www.nrsc.org -hit the "contribute" button once you get there.) Once you have made that contribution, however, send e-mails to Tom Daschle, Harry Reid, Patty Murray, Barbara Boxer, Chuck Schumer and Ernest Hollings detailing your determination to defeat them in 2004 (all of these senators are facing re-election in 21 months) and your intention to keep contributing to the NRSC and then to their opponents if they keep this filibuster up and going.
And be sure to send a note to Senator George Allen at www.nrsc.org as well encouraging him to encourage his colleagues to keep the battle going no matter how long it takes.

Nope. No polls. Amazing how quiet the pollsters have been. They are obeying their RAT masters very well on this one.

At least this has gone several days longer than Lott would allow. If Lott were in we'd be sharing power with Daschle and begging the rats not to yell at us.
To date they have gone farther than i would have even hoped. Unfortunately, I want more.

"stand and fight" was the message I gave the phone answers in Hatch and Frist'f office. Well It was actually "don't let those
D@mn Dem win this one". Force the vote or force a filibuster!
Just in case anyone missed it:

The bottom line is that we, the citizens, are being shortchanged in our Constitutional rights. Every vacancy in a circuit, district or appeals court denies Americans the right to a speedy trial and judicial review.
My take is this ... we don't have 60 votes, and we won't ever have 60 votes. Let the Senate Sloths go home for 10 days, and Bush can appoint Estrada to his position in a recess order.
If the Dems erupt in a cavalcade of injury and outrage ... they're going to have to make their case AGAINST this man to gain any public advantage. There's no case, they are taking this subversant approach because they KNOW Joe Citizen thinks C-SPAN is the ESPN "Classic" channel that shows games with white guys wearing short shorts. They're operating below the popular radar right now, and they are using this tact because there would be NO public support for keeping this man off the bench. If they want to use this against Bush for political advantage beyond raising money from Stanley Chesley, John Sweeney and Rob Reiner ... they'll have to enter the daytime world of America. They won't. They can't, this is a purge of a guy who IS an American success story.
Bush needs to just fill the Courts with qualified Jurists, laugh at the muted outrage of the Trotskyites, and play matchmaker between pimply Islamist murderers and their virgin-empty afterlives over the next 36 months. Let's take our chances in 05 for re-upping these Judges with a 57 member GOP Senate caucus.
To: JackTom
I don't understand Cantwell's logic. So far others Dems. were trying hard to pretend that it's all about lack of answers from Estrada.
Within few minutes of her speach she made it clear that it's all about abortion rights and belief that they can vote against somebody because of his/her personal views on particular issues. She attacked Owen and Pickering and finally Jusctice Thomas (mostly for his dissent in Plannned Parenthood v. Casey).
What kind of tactic is this?
To: No More Gore Anymore
I'm kind of surprised that Barbara Boxer didn't say anything about the Sacred Right of Women to Choose. That's her mantra about everything, it is a sacrament to her.
To: Mo1
What did you think about this? The woman really doesn't trust anyone.
Evidently, the $1,000 entry fee was not enough to include a tour of Hillarys new home, as Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D.-Calif.) was prevented from doing too much sightseeing: "There was someone (a Secret Service agent?) standing at the living room door, which said to me, Do not enter, " she recalled.
To: PhiKapMom
Besides if they cannot vote, they cannot spend our money! EXCELLENT POINT!!

I think the clintons reign is about to end with this one. This is going to cost the Dems dearly in the Hispanic community. No one goes this far on an appellant judge without a very good reason and the Hillary DemocRATs going down that plank with her are beyond my comprehension. You would think they would have learned by now about the Clintons.
They remind me of France on Iraq -- whatever they are hiding must be devastating!

Senator Hatch was on Sean Hannity again a short time ago. He said keep calling. Call Senators on both sides, call the media. So, lets get busy. :)
