Byrd is proving one of my observations again. He wants to discuss US policy toward Iraq and Bush's handling of the UN. He is avoiding the Estrada issue. He wants to change the subject.
The fact that many rats are already wanting to change the subject from Estrada tells me that the longer this goes on the less they will want to talk about it.
Byrd so far is the most extreme of the rats in this. He so far is steering clear of Estrada. Maybe he'll get to it but so far he is discussing Bush and that says to me he wants the subject on something other than this fillibuster.

Makes a person wonder what the Dem's (Hillary) are using to control them. As I stated earlier Bayh is two faced, but definatly under the control of the powers that be. He can't seem to think for himself on any issue.

That's a very good question! They don't need her vote! Now she is alienating Hispanics in her State.
Really looking forward to 2004 elections!

Landreiu campaigns for Estrada, then dumps him. I think that Daschle/Hillary give different Dems a little piece of conservativism they can offer to the voters, so they can call themselves moderate. But, and this is key, they let different candidates be conservative on different issues, so they can say they support it, but never have it passed. Landrieu supports a ban on human cloning. We'll see if this passes the Senate. Seeing what's going on with Estrada, these Dems clearly like to OBSTRUCT.

He is mocking the President on Iraq and the UN..

I agree the file must have lots of potentially damning material, harmful to her in particular You bet there is .. remember all the stories of how everyone thought Hillary was a gonner and then all of a sudden to case was closed

So far as I know only Breaux (he could care less about Hillary), Miller (retiring), and Nelson of NE (thinking of joining the GOP) are officially off the reservation. There must be a couple of more because I heard we had 55 or 56 votes to end cloture.
I think with the change in strategy from Byrd the RATs are getting in their polling numbers that are telling them they are doing horrible and this filibuster is failing.
Not a smart move to take on Pres Bush about Iraq either. RATs are grasping at straws!

I just hear Sen. Hatch on Hannity and he doesn't sound to optomistic. Giving excuses why the GOP can not stay on during recess, Mitch McConnell's surgery, another GOP Senator whose wife is undergoing life threatening surgery etc. He says it will we have to win within 10 days or it will be over for Estrada.

Byrd's taking up the side of the Frogs Now!
Frog Legs and Byrd Brains! Served over White Sheets! Or is that under a White Sheet?

I haven't the time to read this entire thread so I don't know if what I will say has been said previously.
It is so enormously sad what politicians do TO our country. I'm familiar with the game of politics but only recently started to really care and mature in my political beliefs. I cannot believe what I am seeing on CSPAN. The words coming out of these windbags is not just delaying a vote but, at a time when our country is finally making some tough decisions, truly damaging our reputation and status as a respectable nation. How can grown men and women, in good conscience, stand up and spout such damaging words about President Bush just for the sake of delaying a vote? I've been dismayed but now I am, finally, thoroughly disgusted.

They are all about obstructing and are perfectly willing to be led around by the nose by Hillary Clinton!

This is a BASIC legal principle. Forcing the US Government to give up the work product of its attorneys would be similar to requiring the attorney to reveal the contents of his private convesations with his client. It would, therefore, completely gut and violate the attorney/client privilege. You're are absolutely correct ..

Listening to Byrd, it doesn't have anything to do with Estrada, It has to do with Bush. Rubbing his nose in...... The dem's must really be angry that they lost the majority. Talk about Sore losers!
To: Bisesi
Hatch better not give up the fight. We must be prepared to drag this out until hell freezes over if necessary.
