The dems yielded thinking the Republicans wanted to make a comment. Hatch started comments and all the Republicans came and began interrupting for the purpose of asking questions for Hatch to clarify Estrada's bio and the dems tactics and reasoning for filibuster.

As I understood it.

If I were in DC, I'd be sending Hatch and the other Reps a giant order of Papa Johns, some Krispy Kreme dougnuts, and about 20 gallons of Starbucks.

Levin was speaking when I went to add some ice and Coke to my glass -- when I came back Hatch had taken over the floor and won't relinquish. Heck he didn't even want to relinquish is to Senator Frist.

Believe Ted Stevens from Alaska pulled a fast one on the RATs! He has been known to do battle but good!

Frist has brought all the GOP senators to the floor. They have been asking Hatch questions for over an hour. At one point, Frist came to the floor and made an offer to the Rats. First, he offered an additional six hours. Then an additional day. Then an additional week. Then an additional two weeks. At each offer, the Rats objected to a vote. Hatch asked for a show of the yeas and nays on the question of Estrada's nomination. I believe the Rats objected to that.

Bottom line: there is a true fillibuster going down in the Senate. Apparently, the Rats are going to have to hold the floor because Reid has lined up speakers when Hatch yields the floor.

It is so cool to see the Pubbies standing up to the Rats! YeeeeeHaaaaa!

Not sure, but Reid mentioned that he gave up the Floor to Hatch so he could make a statement

But I don't think Reid thought the Repubs would spend all this time asking questions .. hehehe

I t seems, from my experience, that the posts are showing up about 20 minutes after we write them.

That is hilarious! I knew Republicans had pulled something the way Ted Stevens from Alaska was acting. That means some RAT had to yield the floor. Notice how Sen Hatch always says he retains the floor when letting someone speak.
