The best line of all was last evening when Fox News played Dave Letterman's monologue (paraphrasing)...."France wants more evidence to go to war with Iraq. The last time the French wanted more evidence, there was a German flag marching through Paris." Says it all, doesn't it.

A couple of years ago my wife's sister and husband went on a vacation to Paris. At the time, I said I would never set foot in a country that has such disdain for Americans. I'm sure not all Frenchman feel this way, but obviously a large majority of them do and to them I say, "You're nothing but a bunch of cheese eating, surrender monkeys." I did decide a little bit later that it would be a privilege to visit the sacred shores of Normandy but I'm not sure they have an airport with a customs office so I could fly there directly. :)

France and Germany have made a lot of money selling weapons to Iraq for exclusive oil contracts -- they are not looking forward to the day we reveal the truth to the world.
I remember many years ago when there was a German scandal of a German company constructing a poison gas factory, or some such, in Iran or Iraq. Why would they abandon a proven profit center.

Add: During the Cold War, France dropped out of NATO in order to play Washington and Moscow off each other for selfish gain. France rejoins NATO after the USSR falls. France gets a "win" by being a free-rider.
