The Is-There-A-Run-On-Duct-Tape-Yet? thread

Has anyone bought plastic and tape as mentioned by Tom Ridge. I am sure some hard core Freepers already have it, left over from Y2K. I remember reading stories how the Israelis had all this stuff at the ready.
When is the Hajj over? When does Hajji come home? Will MSNBC run a Countown to Hajj ticker?
Maybe we should tape Gravis into his chair.

I'm totally with you on this one, Captain. I'm supposed to seal myself up in a room (preferably windowless) for up to three days at a time, while Mustafa, Muhammed, et al, are free to casually stroll across our wide open borders or enter the country on student visas.
Seal the borders! Start rounding up, deporting, or "otherwise dealing with" these people now!

Richard Gere has quite a stock on hand. He uses it to wrap his hamsters so they don't explode!

In a bad attack, take your plastic bag, put it over your head, and wrap duct tape around your neck. And later, after the authorities find your decomposed body, they'll say, "Look at this fool!"

And maybe some really expensive new locks, and a new drill and some jigsaw blades. Not to mention this really great new Dremel kit....
Now you know why my wife forbids me to visit the Home Depot, and why all employees know me by name.

You can mummify a human body using WD-40 and duct tape.

I agree. Look at Isreal, we are going to be the same and we have to face it.. I have water, food, tape and garbage bags. I have a box for spring storms anyway, what's the difference??? Being perpared for anything is smart, not silly.

"And maybe some really expensive new locks, and a new drill and some jigsaw blades. Not to mention this really great new Dremel kit...."Not to mention, that kit's gonna need a nice compound miter saw, a 13-inch planer and a biscuit joiner...

If you're in Texas, you ALWAYS have a ready supply of duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and it's not supposed to, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it's supposed to, use WD-40.

Please tell me what the problem is with having a 72 hour kit in case you have to evacuate, and some food and water on hand in case of emergencies. What terrorists do not provide, Mother Nature regularly does. There is no place in this entire country that isn't prone to disaster. How far are YOU from interstates and railways upon which hazardous materials are transported? We don't need terrorists to have tank cars derail now and then.
It's fine to mock the prepared, I suppose, but history supports my view that eventually something bad will happen a lot better than it supports your position that it's stupid to practice some basic preparedness.
Surviving calamity is something the human race has done extremely well since Adam turned to Eve and said, "Well, what now?" Many catastrophes can be anticipated and prepared for. We're the wealthiest society ever and we buy far more toys than practical stuff. Not much is more practical than duct tape. So go get some! If you don't seal your house up with it, you can always use it on a wart.

I live in a small town - 75 killed in rush on hardware store in an apparent attempt to corner the market on duct tape! the local sheriff and the "Inter-Galatic Itelligence Service" is investigating. Ted Kennedy said it was influenced by right-wing fanatics!
