It was a coast to coast effort on Clear Channel Talk Radio last night. Freepers SeenTheLight - San Francisco, Kristinn - Washington D.C. and Comwatch - Sacramento, took to the airways with talk show host Mark Williams for an hour long segment after Mark's popular "War Room". The boards at the station lit up and one caller from the opposition camp gave us all a practical lesson on just who these protesters are and how they react to the truth. They are losing the heart and minds of America with each demonstration. A dedicated group of of your fellow Freepers plan to take the Talk Radio campaign to the next level this weekend with live reporting from counter demonstrations around the country.
"We saw this kind of internet/talk radio networking in November/December 2000" says co-organizer Dave Jenest of Patriot Watch. part of the American Patriot Defenders Network. "Were at a time in our history where that spirit is needed again... we came very close to losing our way of life, the traditions this nation was founded upon. It was the grass roots conservative movement, outraged by the election crisis, that galvanized otherwise apathetic Americans. Today it's the threat of U.N. domination over our Constitution and the masses protesting around the country that must be countered in the mainstream media. This is one of our goal - resistance and speaking the truth. The media is just beginning to hear us over the roar of the hate America opposition."
Promotion for your efforts? Freeper Chapters Wanted!
We'd like to invite you to help network Freepers on talk radio before, during and after counter-protests. Here's a couple of the on the air talk show hosts who have joined in that effort. Would you consider adding your favorite talk show host to the equation and appointing a spokesperson from your group to be a guest on these shows? Last night, we joined with San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Sacramento for an hour long informative program on 50,000 watt clear channel station, KFBK.
The goal is simple: Get more people involved and get our message out. We'll see that your contacts are included in press releases and will have teams of people working behind the scenes to support the front line troops as they meet the opposition face to face on the streets of America much like we did in November/December 2000.
What's Involved?
- Be the voice for your area! Send us your cell phone numbers so hosts can call you.
- Share a few photos of you event.
- Send your press releases for our resdistribution.
- Develop or cultivate an existing relationship with talk show hosts in your area.
- Send us air dates and times like the examples below.
- Help us reach out to the national on air personalities so they will want time with you!
- Help us build a long term national strategy for countering the opposition camp.
- Preserve a moment in history for you own friends and family to share.

I should have pinged this thread instead... thank you for putting up with my error. Please help spread the word so we can get a bigger turnout this weekend for those patriots hitting the streets. I wish I could devote more time this week, but I've given up a couple days from work already. We need your help...
Dave

Consider having a local Texas FReeper to do remote radio interviews from on-site at our upcoming counter-FReep/Support the Troops rallies. Take a look at what they are looking for and see if we have someone that is willing to "go on the air" to report live from the homefront.

Well, you know I'm in for the Bay Area Chapter! We're still forming, but at this point, it looks like I'm going to be a media outreach type person. This time around though, I couldn't have done it without your help. Good job comwatch!

I will be there on Saturday, bringing signs and a couple of flags, as well as handouts with chants and songs. STL, do you think it would make sense to have a handout to give interested press and public? Explaining we are not 'pro-war' but 'pro-America,' and that we see the protesters as 'anti-America' -- with evidence such as in your article above? Why not, the 'other side' always has handouts!

We'll have a number of flags as well. Flyers and press materials is really a good idea. I think it a good idea to get contact names and phone numbers to any media that come by. You may find they call you next time out, or for reaction to evolving events in the middle east or here.
I'm trying to comfirm some intel from SFPD gleaned from a friend here on my local department. "Circling the Wagons may be neither practical or safe according to that info.
Also, be equipped for rain... so says the five day forecast at this hour. Some are saying there's a slight chance a front could arrive earlier than Sunday.
I'd like to collect some cell phone numbers and we'll provide ours (the caravan). Freepmail me with that information.

Ref: Texas FReeper to do remote radio interviews from on-site at our upcoming counter-FReep/Support the Troops rallies.
Please let us know if you get this nailed down. We'd like to get a contact number/cell phone, so KSFO can call for a live or after action report. Let David Gold know and cc me so we can add it to interview lists here.

"Well, you know I'm in for the Bay Area Chapter!"
That's a given... We know David Gold wants you on the show, and we'll likey follow-up with several more on Monday.
I'll try to call you Wednesday night when I nail down some info that came in today about plaza security. We may get a preview up here in Sacto on Saturday... I hope not, but we're ready.
Also, I think your observation on the show last night about the declining attendance may be born out. There seems to be some protesters who don't like what their hearing from their "spokepersons"...

I would like to keep my 'not evil but just misguided' opinion of liberals, so I am hoping you are correct -- that once they actually hear those speakers, they will turn away. I think the American public would too -- IF the media would report on the protests honestly!

Besides not wanting to burn my cell phone minutes, I'm currently fighting a sour throut that I'm trying to keep from becoming laringitis.
I've pinged some likely volunteers and linked to this thread from the Texas locale page. Hopefully someone takes you up on the offer.

Yes, I think a handout is a good idea, just make sure it's a good one! If you need any help, let me know.

I'm planning on doing as many legit (meaning NOT journalism students) interviews as possible that day to get the word out. I find that commenting about how we often do interviews and then don't see any coverage, helps guilt them into it!
Rain looks probable, but I'm willing to be there, rain or shine. Raincoats and umbrellas are recommended (depending on the weather between now and then).
