there is seldom such a thing as a "temporary" government power.

I know, but thank you for using the word seldom. During WWII censorship was imposed then recinded after the war. I am with you on this, if the government thinks they will keep these powers after the war on terrorism ends, they will have to answer to me, and you.

If one does not have a soc security card they cannot work in the US as it stands right? NOT SO... So how or why would anything else work unless our borders were properly policed and all terrorists/illegals kicked out?

Terrorism is a method and cannot be destroyed. The War on Terrorism, like the War on Drugs and the War on Poverty is perpetual. All powers ceded for the 'temporary' extent of the WoT are permanent.

Think I'm wrong? Ask yourself under what conditions the War on Terrorism could be declared over, and its war powers ended.

they will have to answer to me, and you.

LOL! And what are we going to do about it, 50 years after the fact (I'm being generous, the WoT will still be in full swing in 50 years), when two generations have never known a time without national ID cards? Will you sign a harshly worded petition? Write a letter to the editor or to your congressman? Yeah, that'll scare 'em. When both major parties are behind national ID and have been that way for decades, who will you vote for?

The only chance we have to stop national ID cards is today.
