Al Qaida is known to plan large-scale simultaneous attacks on dates that have some significance to past actions or events. September 11, 2001 is the mother of all significant events, and I suggest today may be just such a date for an attack against US interests -- it's a Tuesday and the 11th day of the 2nd month. In the mind of a dedicated islamist, it could be a good day to launch the 2nd wave.

I think unfortunately these attacks are indeed very likely and these continuing drip-drip news reports are deliberate to prepare us psychologically.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. Just this morning, I've noticed that in addition to the news networks carrying "Terror Alert High" bugs along with their on-screen graphics, one of our local stations, WAGA /Atlanta (Fox 5) has added the same tag to their time/temp bug during their newscasts.

Something is in the wind, and it ain't good.

If there is an attack of this nature in the US, I would not want to be a middle eastern looking person living here.

Or one of the anti-American liberal/socialist appeasers (of any complexion, race or religion)

IF an attack is in the works for INSIDE this country again, those locations may have an increase in unusual traffic/behaviors.

do my fellow freepers really believe we're in for another attack? i've been hoping this is just an over-reaction by the gov't or a message to the islamoroaches that we know what they're up to.

Yes, Carolyn, it is good to live in a rural area. Having a top-quality wood stove (to replace the heat pump if it goes out), a well usable by non-electric means if necessary, and a stockpile of food and water, all these comfort us.

Another attack is likely. Unfortunately, we can't hope that the govt would give any specifics. A lot of people can justify that.

But if the govt has an 'idea', we'd be 'better off' knowing where/what is expected. That way, the folks who live in that area would be on a 'higher awareness'. This generalized, and often, alerting seems to be desensitizing people.

I'm no expert, but I believe if there's another attack, it will come during 'business hours'. These animals want to have the MOST 'soft targets' taken out, when they hit.

I wouldn't live in a state of constant fear or such, too stressful. If you live in a city, make plans to stay with family/friends who live in the country, if TSHTF. Silly as it sounds, all those 'preps' for Y2K would be a good thing.

As for the 'over-reacting' or the 'forewarning' to the islame whackjobs....only God knows. Stay in prayer, stay vigilant.

One Sept 11th, I watched the news (in shock) and by noon time of that day, I had gone to the store, cleaned out a cabinet and filled it with emergency food. It shouldn't take a billion dollar color code chart to tell Americans that "something has changed" in this country.
Get batteries, ammo, (and nuke pills if you are outside of an immediate blast zone of a nuclear power plant. Iosat: Potassium Iodide tablets). I bought our nuke pills last year. Also invested in a large tool box and stocked it full of first aid stuff and even an army field surgical kit.
Keep gas tank full in car, camp stove and fuel and have a plan for rendevous with family members.
Being prepared is all we can do and it doesn't seem like much, but life is like being on a ship and no one sails without a life boat.
