Yeah, try prosecuting a "thought" crime. Maybe its time has come.

Tell me why your use of the word "Redneck" is just ducky while in the same paragraph you condemn those who use bigoted words.

How 13 percent of the population gets to cause 60 percent of the grief is beyond me. It's time to just get on with things and see if anything more than the phrase "motherf.......er" can be contributed to our society.

Great...getting sued for a word you didn't even say. We're doomed...doomed, I tell ya.You are absolutely right. The U.S. is in very serious trouble.
The judge should have thrown this case out. The effect will be that Southwest will go to prescripted instructions.

I just commented to another poster that it is sad that the many fine blacks who share most values with you and I, all too often allow the Al Sharptons, the Jessie Jacksons and these ladies speak for them.
In addition it occurs to me that it would be impossible for whites to develop an equivelant of the NAACP or La Raza to protect their interests. So something must be wrong with them too, if that's the case.

"I for one will support a law that makes this rhyme a crime"....oops "illegal."
Let's just make the entire First Amendment illegal-every word is offensive to someone these days, and besides that, the ABA through libel suits, has made free speech unaffordable to the regular people anyway.

Government Shrinker's comment was hyperbolic to make a point. It didn't exhude hostility and personal animus as your's did.

I'm Jewish. The next time someone tells me to "go fly a kite," I'll be sure to mis-hear it as "go fry a kike," and sue the pants off them for reminding me of the horrors of the Holocaust. LOL! I'll chip in a buck for my belly laugh of the day.

I'm 39, and I must have been born on the cusp of racial political correctness, because I never heard the N- version, but we said "catch a Colored" when I was a kid. I always mis-understood it as "Collar", which didn't make a lot of sense. But since when does anything have to make sense when you are a kid? Later on it was changed to "Tiger", which kids are still learning in elementary school today, as far as I can tell.
It's interesting...
I was listening to the radio between the time of my last post and now. AM of course. Two fairly moderate guys out of Chicago. Hilarious drive time type....They were discussing this case (I do wonder if someone in their studio lurks at FR)....
One grew-up on the north side of Chicago and he had NEVER heard "Nigger" used. He had only heard "Tiger" while growing-up. He was adimate about it. The other grew-up on the south side...He was like me, until he was 12 he had ONLY heard "Nigger"...Like me, as an ignorant child, it just seemed...Normal.
They took a few calls. About half were like me and half the complete oposite. A black woman called-in and said she was with her 70 year-old grandmother back in the mid 80s. Her grandmother reached for some mixed nuts in a can and said..."I just love these "Nigger Toes" (Brazile Nuts to you and I but again...When and where I grew-up they were NOTHING but "Nigger Toes". Ever heard of that?). Of course her granddaughter was floored because she didn't even pause while saying it. And of course, she's black too...But it was just "Normal" to call them that to her.
This would make an intersting study.

Me too -- because they've been brainwashed for so long with racist ideas about how blacks can't be expected to meet high standards, because all high standards are really just white racist constructs. That loopy CUNY professor Jefferies actually teaches that black people can only do math by approximation, and that it's racist to think that getting the right answer to math problems is better than getting an approximate answer. Funny though, if we started giving black people a choice whether to fly on airplanes designed by engineers who did math the "right answer" way vs. on those designed by engineers who figured vague approximations were just as good, I expect they'd all want to fly on the "racist" planes.

Government Shrinker's comment was hyperbolic to make a point.I disagree.
It didn't exhude hostility and personal animus as your's did.
I never "exhude" anthing. I'm not hostile, nor do I know this "person". And I am certainly not familiar with his "animus".
Here is what I said...
No it's not. That's an overgeneralization and an embarrassment to this forum.
THAT "exhudes hostility"?? And "personal animus"???
You want to talk about political correctness or gross overreaction? On a thread concerning such I find your comments to be ironic.

The combination of PC and ignorance gets pretty overwhelming, doesn't it. The last few years, the niger seeds I buy for my wild finch feeder have started coming in bags labelled with various alternate spellings, including "nyger" and "nyjer", to spare the PC sensitivities of the spelling-challenged. Somebody better tell Niger Innis to change his name . . .
Last summer, I was served at a Burger King by a young black woman wearing a nametag emblazoned with "Nigah". I wouldn't have dared to ask how it was pronounced.

We only said "catch a monkey by the tail. We lived in a community with a 60/40 racial split. 60 being white.
