"Great harm has been done to us. We have suffered great loss. And in our grief and anger we have found our mission and our moment. Freedom and fear are at war. The advance of human freedom -- the great achievement of our time, and the great hope of every time -- now depends on us. Our nation -- this generation -- will lift a dark threat of violence from our people and our future. We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. It is my hope that in the months and years ahead, life will return almost to normal. We'll go back to our lives and routines, and that is good. Even grief recedes with time and grace. And I will carry this: It is the police shield of a man named George Howard, who died at the World Trade Center trying to save others. It was given to me by his mom, Arlene, as a proud memorial to her son. This is my reminder of lives that ended, and a task that does not end. (Applause.)
I will not forget this wound to our country or those who inflicted it. I will not yield; I will not rest; I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people.
The course of this conflict is not known, yet its outcome is certain. Freedom and fear, justice and cruelty, have always been at war, and we know that God is not neutral between them. (Applause.)
Fellow citizens, we'll meet violence with patient justice -- assured of the rightness of our cause, and confident of the victories to come. In all that lies before us, may God grant us wisdom, and may He watch over the United States of America.

No one's forgotten about the DPRK.We've just got to take care of a country linked to AQ and the war on terror that doesn't have nukes yet. When we're done in the desert, GWB and company will turn their full attention to that sawed-off pot bellied pinko Kim Jung Il. They've already got nukes so the dance is gonna be a little diferent with them. But they aren't forgotten about.

It was denied by the Czech Intel guys, but their president refuted that claim. I don't think the AQ working with Saddam is a stretch. We've already seen first hand (by our spooks and from first hand recounting by the Kurds) that one of the remaining AQ bigwhigs has set up shop in the northern part of Iraq. And that the towns he's taken over from Kurds are blooming in full Wahabbism. If it served to further his goal of becoming the dominant power in the region, Saddam would side with the devil.

This was just on the news update on MSNBC, I believe that they said it was in the London Times. Bush and Blair gives Saddam 48 hours.

I'm not sure when we'll attack, but I look for it to be on or just before a weekend to lessen the fear of--or actual chaos from--a retaliatory strike here.
People have to go to work or school on weekdays. But families have more options about their activities on weekends. Having a day or two to keep your kids near while you get used to the idea of sending them off on Monday might give everyone a chance to get used to the war and to implement any extra safety precautions needed.
Then, again, I know the first consideration has to be what's best for success in the Iraq theatre, so maybe I'm wrong.
But one thing that I do not believe is that they will give him 48 hrs. notice.

I don't doubt the authenticity of either the article or the plan. It's interesting that it was removed and replaced with Michael Jackson (.......who the ef' cares about this freak anyways......) and Prince Charles's opinions on the war (........ditto, this rich blithering idiot.......).
The article was mentioned briefly on C-SPAN this morning. Hmmmmmmmm.......? It will be interesting if much is made of it on the other shows.

I am getting that "feeling" this morning myself. And it came from the news articles found this morning on FR... about the 48 hours, the commercial liners being called up, and finally, the following thought occured to me.
What if, just what if.... France and Germany are part of the choreography? Maybe there is a "behind the news" agreement between the high-ups, and the rest of what appears is just for popular politics?
I am specualating of many reasons why this could be the true situation, (and an excellent strategy) but also know some of you will think I didn't wrap the tin-foil tightly enough this morning.

This is perfect timing. First the Orange alert. Then the airspace changes around Washington. Now the 48 hour alert. It's all falling into place. Something else is in play. Either there's something major in store for us, or Saddam has made a specific threat against us, our assets in theater or Israel. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Agreed.... Something big is about to happen
