I think you're referring to my post where I mentioned Brokaw said that getting Iraqis away from their handlers revealed the depths of their misery and wish to be freed of Saddam. No one in the administration told him anything. He was in Iraq. I read a transcript on FR of his appearance on the Donahue show and Brokaw's admission that the people of Iraq aren't against our invading their country and setting them free infuriating Donahue. he he

I agree. I don't think the President would have scheduled a statement at the last minute of the day to say "THE GAME IS OVER" unless...the game was over. He knew Saddam was going to begin a new round of games. He also knows that Blix and Annan will do anything to avoid this war. He probably also knew France and Germany would try to botch things...he pre-empted them all. They may all think he will cave under pressure but he won't. He has made up his mind - and he's a Texan.
