If you guys are right and this playing footsie with the anti-war wimps and UN pansies is merely to but time for action, I'll be happy. But I don't like the message it seems to send to Saddam and other enemies - that they can jerk us around and stall.

I have to go pick up my granddaughter........... I don't know, Howlin, you 33 year old grandmothers are indicative of some aberration in our society ... ;^)

I noticed Helen bash Ari today about the war being all about oil.Which reminds me (speaking of oil)...Doesn't Helen looks like a fried dumpling with makeup? (and bad makeup at that!)

The 101st Airborne got orders to deploy today.
We aren't messing around. Surely Afghanistan let you see this.

USS Carl Vinson shipping to North Korea peninsula. Heard from MSNBC. Hope Bush speaks on NKorea as well.

I thought, when the Chinese foreign minister spoke yesterday, that China was going to abstain. Will France and/or Russia also abstain?I don't know. The only word from Blair was that there would be no vetoes.

Perhaps they are deploying to Guam?
To: over3Owithabrain
Relax. I remember people complaining about the "inactivity" in Afghanistan too. That was right before our mounted boys & their mounted boys rode the Taliban right out of Kabul.
You really don't think Dubya's bluffing, do you?

Well, it was during the sniper coverage; it was txculprit and I just asked to be changed to flake. Another gal did it about the same time.

Someone on another thread called the announced deployment of the 101st Airborne today a "leading indicator".

We've been mobilizing troops for a while now. We couldn't just ship them all out at the same time because some were deployed in other places with other committments, etc.
Trust Bush.

Do you think C-SPAN will cover President Bush's statement? Anyone? They should; MSNBC will carry live at http://www.msnbc.com/m/lv/ in any event...

I'd love to change my handle to resemble yours: it'd be LisaBuc, but I already changed it once, I'd be embarrassed to ask Jim to do it again. LOL! The only reason my screen name is so blah and unimaginative is that I registered early in '98 and I was so eager to post and vent about the i42, I just used my real name.

Allright, you guys are making me feel a little better. Just getting impatient with the UN folks and don't want to see Bush weakened by their games. But I'll keep the faith...

Bush is late, isn't he (nobody is talking on this thread saying his comments)?......this is something unheard of; I wonder what's up. I still do not think this is a war is starting speech.

I wouldn't mind to see em drop that Eiffel tower.Nah, I veto that idea, though I had the worst fifteen minutes of my life waiting for the elevator on top of the darned thing. People were crowded around it in a way I'd never seen before, pushing, shoving, like a stampeding herd. My daughter, who lived in Paris, explained that Europeans don't have the same concept of "personal space" that Americans have. Just one of many differences.
