Unraveling? Yep, I think so too.
And didn't someone say, maybe the police said it, can't remember, maybe a lawyer on tv, that if he does take off, it's a sure sign of guilt.
Were the MPD waiting for this? Wonder if they expected it.

Something seems a little Off!! Yep. Lots of possibility here, but maybe he reregistered under a different name to keep the press away.

" We spoke of it and we would have had private detectives on it within 24hours. Laci's husband would have been escorted to a cabin in Canada by several large men and asked a few questions."
Don't you know it! If I have learned anything in these missing persons cases,(especially children) it's that you better hire the best investigator $ can buy within the first 24 hours. AND if you don't know any large men, find the nearest biker bar in your area....

Aha! No wonder the 16th popped up as the "due date" from him only. I'm with you! That Scotty, what a planner he is.
To: Devil_Anse
LOL, he probably would say that. It's about as believable as most of the other stuff he's said.

That Shapiro, he gets lots of the business. I think he just knows a lot of people who are possible future murderers. Bunch of morality-challenged Hollyweirders. Shapiro will have to fit SP in around the Spector case then!

I left her a phone number. The phone number to the local cab company. And you're still married? LOL

Come to think of it, I did find it rather odd when an "Orenthal James Simpson" checked in just as "Scott Peterson" checked out.

"Who the hell would want to live in a house where your wife was kidnapped from"-SP on phone from Mexico. The car thing was explained as "planned on getting a new one anyway and I needed a truck". He called Rowlands yesterday from Guad.. Mexico.Hey, Scott, who the he!! would kidnap a woman with a big dog like that by her side?

"Planned on a new car anyway." Oh, brother. Notice he didn't dare to parrot his mother or sister-in-law's line, "Laci had wanted a new car anyway."
W.W.O.J.D.?

Check this out, from the conference link. SP had to get his registration in by Jan 10!
So he was either planning on going to it even though Laci was due during the conference OR he signed up a couple of weeks after she disappeared. What a great guy.
"Registration forms and other materials will be mailed in mid-November, and on-line registration will be available by that time as well. The registration deadline is January 10, 2003. Registration fees, which cover admission to conference, Tuesday field visits and all meal functions, are:
Producer/Academic $400.00
Agribusiness $675.00
Non-member $750.00"

I don't think the fact that our friend Scottie checked out of his hotel before the show was over necessarily has any significance whatsoever. People often go to trade shows without staying for every day of the event
If I was in charge of the tradeshow, I would have told SP not to attend or to leave. Presently SP is bad for business. Those in Mexico that has access to cable news are well aware of the status of this person of interest.

Good work!
Hmmm...Let's see. We can theorize that maybe when Scott's boss and the others came over, they told Scott to fill in for someone who was already registered?
Or---Scott not only made this registration early on, he probably made it as early as NOVEMBER. Well...those who make things happen know what is going to happen in advance! Just my opinion!
To: RGSpincich
Any more on the 'staged event'? Gee, did he wreck his nice new truck already?
What a time for FR to be slow as molasses...driving me nuts!
To: Devil_Anse
Ah, yes, if he made the reservation in November--hmmm, guess he was planning on having a clear calendar by now...

don't mind me just marking my spot for later read...
