[history]
For Democrats, it was pivotal for Powell to produce rock-solid, slam-dunker stuff on Saddam. The onus rests squarely on Bush, not Hussein, they said. The challenge for Powell was building as methodical and compelling a case possible, buttressed by reams of irrefutable evidence, while avoiding the pitfalls and perils of over-reach, exceeding the bounds of evidence. Stick to the evidence, stick to the facts, stick to the proof, Mr. Powell, or risk a 'credibility gap', say the Democrats.

Truly I wish you were not right about this. But you are and you said it so well that nobody could miss. Fried citizens, economic horror are less important to some than regaining political power. Thank you for your excellent essay!

Who's kidding? The same democrats who unanimously backed Clinton's attack on Iraq are President Bush's most vocal opponents today. This is a party line protest aided by the propagandist media to undermine Bush at all costs. Did you notice the complete omission by all major networks (sans Fox) of the backing/support of ten additional European countries? In my book, democrat rhymes with traitor.Bears repeating..

Oops, I forgot to add - wonderful analysis - and I loved the addition of pertinent photos. Thanks =^)

Thanks for looking, blackie- that was just a sample of what I could pull quickly from DUBOB 11... there's a good bit more.
I was sitting here thinking about pulling those links and some others and posting them as "Time to kick the tires & light the fires, folks- terrorism gathers across the World..."

I say, what guns have Democrats been smoking? This was a really fine article, John, but you got this statement wrong. Democrats don't smoke guns. They smoke joints, and let their private bodyguards take care of dirtying their hands with guns!
